:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/pappys. I went to meet with Subaru SVX owners yesterday. Even though I no longer have one! Their annual get-together isn't far away so I head over anyway. Sparse turnout this year, but there was another car show going on right next door so it was still fun. I took the 7 over and everyone got a big kick out of looking at it and sitting in it -- or trying to. :)

This morning I made omelets using the cheese I got for Father's Day from the TX contingent. 15 year old cheddar is very rich and creamy tasting, yummy.

    IMG_2599.jpg

Today I'm off to another local car show. I may even put the 7 in the lineup this time, still debating. I worry a little bit about the exposed headers and someone's little kid being inquisitive...

Got to remember a lot of us were instigator's back in the day. It's all good.
Everyone seems to take it pretty well. Seems to be quiet a few in this group out north east. Other than Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY have not been out there much.

We went to a Loggins and Messina concert back in the day and Kansas was the warm up band. They got the crowd going and when L&M came out on stage they played one song and sucked. Everyone was lighting their cigarette lighters and stomping their feet, and chanting, "KANSAS, KANSAS, KANSAS!" Someone come out on stage and said that Kansas wouldn't be coming back on stage because they had left to go to their hotel. People were not happy... and especially L&M. They played a very short, unenthusiastic set and the concert was over.

We saw Kansas again decades later. The big band was America and I think they were playing a sound track instead of playing live. I caught a glitch in their sound that no one else seemed to notice. Kansas came out later and rocked the house, and there was no way in hell they weren't actually playing.

I'm not a big Kansas fan because so much of their music sounds the same, but they have two great songs. Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind are awesome. We played Dust in the Wind at our wedding. At the time it seemed appropriate. I'd want it played at my funeral now.

Are the third gens as easy to do as the second gens? Best, easiest pad/caliper design I've ever done a brake job on. I swear with the right tools (lift and air tools) I could change pads in twenty minutes while drinking a cup of coffee.

I can remember as a young high school student Kiss came to Minot, ND the played at a movie theater with a stage before that the played in a bar and after in a bar called the state line club on the Montana border. At the time Montana was rocking the 18 year old drinking law. And North Dakota has always been 21. never got a chance to see them till I was 50 great showmanship. Probably the best concert I ever saw was Tina Turner. Another band that hit the bars around here early on was Head East they had some great sound. I always thought Golden Earing would have been a good band.

The lead guitar/composer of the band Kerry Livgren was sitting at their dining room table practicing his acoustic guitar and his wife came in and asked “ what’s that song “ he replied it’s just a finger exercise that I do. She said NO that’s a song! The rest is history lol
They have four albums before Leftoverture, which was a collection of “Leftover” songs
They were a progressive rock band before most people knew what that was. The reason they were so good live was the original six members were incredibly talented. Check out some of their earlier work, you may be pleasantly surprised

Ah, the State Line. Also got extra drinking/party time since ND had a 1am bar close time, 2am in MT, and then the time changed between ND and MT for another hour. Not that I know anything about any of this….. ;)

Rod when they came through I was 16 or 17 and the only thing I did at the state line club after I turned 18 was hit the drag races. Drink after words. Closest place to watch drag races. At the time I was just understanding e/t's and surprised about some of the entries. Some were just ordinary cars.

Well, my very enjoyable day is ending; son came down, ribs were eaten, so hot (104*) only he got in the pool for a minute, and on his way home. Spent the morning with one of my few old friends from work, and he loves cars! Like me, his favorite is "that one". So, two posts, and I still deleted and left a bunch on the editing room floor. COTA C&C isn't a big as SA at the moment, but there is a lot of coming and going - so very active.
And, your Fathers Day Car Show!

    Love Mini Coopers...

And the Land Rover reminds me of a vehicle I saw in 2005 that was imported from Romania (?) and I never saw another. It was CHEAP too. If I remember right it was 18K.

And the GT 40 is the car I would most like to drive if I could drive it like I stole it.

Man, those Lucids were very impressive. Windshield goes up through the roof to be the sun roof. Room for lots of bodies, if you're in the mob. Even had a friendly sales rep. No interior shots, because too many millionaires were in the way.

Man, if you have a friend like mine that loves cars - meet him/her at a show for even more fun! I wish I could give you all the comments we had over every single vehicle you see!

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

I somehow didn't get my picture of the MONSTER 6X6 with this group. It was like they bought out some surplus RAF airfield.. All together in the for sale lot!

Love the pics Kurt. I enjoy the older vehicles way more than the modern ones. They bring back a lot of memories. Keep them coming.

The way COTA does it, (not that you have to park where they say), the old rods are usually found with the Muscle Cars, and they all drink beer and show up late! Even though that was our second to last stop - a trailered 30's Ford, and 3 others went past us on the escape road and we were both like "WHERE WERE THOSE???" I try though.
Like I said, I like 'em all!

    Evening all:

    Great pics Kurt!
Seeing a IH Scout is rare anymore, used to be lots of them around here, but the Pa. winter salt prep. turned them into rust buckets, and fast! A buddy called me about a week ago and asked if I could bring my timing light down and check the timing on a Scout he just purchased, but he needed to do a few things first, he hasn't called back yet, but when he does I'll get to see it.

They are very easy to do, pretty sure the same as the second gens.
When I changed brakes on the 2007 it had 60,000 mi. on it and the brakes would have lasted a bit more, on the 2018 they had 40,000 mi. on them and needed to be changed. I noticed there are 2 types of brake lining listed, metallic and ceramic, the TRD Sport calls for the ceramic, that's what was on it and that's what I put back on it, don't remember if the 2007 pads were metallic.
Mike would know the ins and outs of brake lining, I'm sure he installed a set or two!

Good morning fellow Porchatonians. Great pictures, Kurt!!! I need to wipe the envy drool off my keyboard now.

I got all of the grass cut and picked up...somehow managed to put the string for the string trimmer somewhere and can't remember where. I have 3 areas on the farm where I generally work on things....nowhere to be found. Finally gave up and quite for the afternoon.

Good morning all. Safely back from my long weekend ride. Covered 2365 miles in roughly 65 hours and that included getting decent amounts of sleep both Friday and Saturday nights. Completed the planned memorial ride for my friend Allen covering 1087 miles in 18 hours. Got a few hours sleep and hit our mark of 1500+ miles within 36 hours. Will post up some pics later once I have them on my laptop.
