That's because it is a dream. The Grand Highlander Hybrid Max is the comparable drive train to the Tacoma hybrid. I believe it does 27 mpg combined. I don't see the Tacoma exceeding that.

Not a performance hybrid at least. Bet if they used something similar to the 23 Prius drivetrain it would get over 40 mpg in the city. But that would mean a CVT.

Maybe I’m describing their next compact truck. Unibody, hybrid, CVT, high MPG.

You’ll save on gas, but won’t save any money. Kinda like diesels and the $10K or so upcharge.

Yeah, but they get the job done. Think I use those type of tools more than I use blades. Was just doing my saw chains to make them sharp…it does take a bit of knowledge and skill to hone cutting instruments. Ya know… Always thought the phrase “not the sharpest tool in the shed” was a bit moronic if you sit down and think about it.

If 37/34/36 was actual, I’d sell my 2021. But I suspect that’s fiction.

Depends, I saved a lot of money with my diesel truck even with the upcharge. 19,750lbs of the scales in Platte City MO, towed the load from Fort Wainwright AK down there and I wasn't going slow (was trying to beat a storm and flash flooding that almost got me stuck. Comparatively, speaking between that diesel and my former gasser I almost made my money back in one trip. If you tow a decent bit and/or heavy a diesel is the only real way to go. If not, a gasser is a much better choice for availability and ease. Just my .02

Hemi sucks for towing BTW, but diesels are king.

Sure but it’s a truck that gets 37 mpg. At least on paper.
