Not those. The coilovers that wheelers suggested were over $1500 and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or thoughts.

your gonna be $1000+ probably for front shocks.

this is gonna be the cheapest fox option. most people run a 2.5 in the front and 2.0 in the rear which would be the option they suggested.

Thanks! I appreciate the help. Time to start saving money or sell a few of my fly fishing rods.

I don't see the spring rate in the specs. I personally would not buy coil springs without knowing the rate. If it's the same as stock then there is not much point in replacing the springs unless the stock springs are incompatible with the shocks, e.g. the inside diameter is too small. It's not like one coil spring is better than another coil spring with the same specs (rate, length, ID, OD, etc). They are probably all made by a tiny handful of companies.

I tell everyone the same thing. Off-road shocks are not particularly useful for on-road use. On the road you are unlikely to tap into the additional damping, heat dissipation, etc. It’s a classic case of over engineering.

There is some speculation that you if lower your spring rate in combination with adding higher damping shocks that your on road ride quality will improve, but as I guy with expensive king shocks I have to say it is marginal at best.

Anyone been able to get a hold of Lewis from Affordable Auto Solutions to do their woolwax lifetime touchups? Been trying to reach out to get a spring touchup done, but seems like he is ghosting people now, not responding via telegram, appointment scheduler, or direct text. I know he had temporarily shutdown his detailing business last year until the economy was better (or at least that is what he made it sound like when I talked to him last year), but he was still honoring the lifetime undercoating by doing a "mobile" business last fall, where he came to your house with his equipment on his truck and did it in your driveway. Seems like he may have decided not to do that either, which is crappy especially for us who paid for the "lifetime" service.

Need to either get a hold of him at least by the fall at the least, or find another solution. Any other places around the TC metro that do woolwax or fluid film undercoating and touchups? I might be able to do it myself too, since the initial undercoating is done I could maybe just get some cans of FF to do touchups here and there where it looks like it might be wearing down.

That’s a bummer - I was considering getting him to Woolwax my wife’s Atlas later this summer. Keep us posted if you find an alternative.

I just do mine in the driveway. If you have a compressor, the kit from woolwax takes 10 minutes to do my truck.

How big of one do you need? I have a pancake style compressor, but not a big one.

Yeah I never really noticed any drip when I initially had it done and after touchups. Does stink for a few days though, especially if you get it on the exhaust.

Does anybody here go to the rigs and coffee get together in Minneapolis? I've wanted to go but the timing doesn't seem to work out.

Good to know I want to go, but I work most Saturdays. Is there any group that gets together in the evening at brewery or something?

Not that I'm familiar with. There's a "Minnesota Tacoma's" Facebook page and "Minnesota Overlanders" page that will occasionally post about meet ups.
