I was hoping your guys can chat so you can ask him how he likes Hot Springs Offroad Park.

He drives from Truckee CA here in October for the Cruiser Crawl.

I'm not sure where you read that but they're high pinion V6 thirds which are 4 pinion carriers

Nope. Stays dry as a bone. Good door seals. I filmed my buddy crossing at the same time.

Well that’s weird they would switch to a 2 pinion for the 100 in that case. I’ve seen people claim the 80 series was 2 pinion but I couldn’t find a definitive answer on Mud.

Just caught up on the missing tourist submarine that went to look at the Titanic...imagine paying $250k to die slowly in a minivan sized coffin with 4 other people 13,000 feet below the surface of the ocean. damn

I guess they estimate they are either out of oxygen by now or just about to be out of it, still no idea where they are.

Man if I could find something like that for dirt dirt cheap locally I would be dropping the LS in it instead. That truck looks prime to be bagged and muscle trucked.
What a shitty way to go, especially if they are just sitting in the floor of the ocean, no power, no cons and freezing to death.

On the bright side, future Titanic expeditions will be a 2 for one special.

I think there may have been some attempt to offset the rear elocker cost with a 2-pinion front thinking the front wouldn't be needed that much. With the Cignus being a luxury model, I don't think they thought the original buyers would be taking the vehicle offroad. Then the rear locker disappeared, and the front got 4-pinions and ATRAC.
I also suspect they knew when the 98-99 models were introduced, that ATRAC would be the eventual replacement. ATRAC just wasn't ready for the Phase I version. Then there is the 105 with the solid axle that is sold outside of the US.

same...crazy awful way to go. I remember some years back this happened to a Russian military sub and everyone on board slowly died when it malfunctioned and they couldn't find it. Can't think of many worse ways to go. Well...I guess I could but that's up there.

At least with a Russian sub you sort of expect to die due to general incompetence, this was likely a big shock to all involved

That's what I'm saying. A 4.8 or something would make this 2500lb bucket move pretty well

Apparently they had to sign a waiver that mentioned death a few times, but who reads those things anyhow

It's happened before for US subs too. Google the USS Thresher.
Or to really go wild and do a turbo LL8
One of the big networks did a feature on the submersible a couple years ago. The way I saw it, no way in hell would I get in. The attitude of the "owner/pilot" alone was cringy. It only has one button and a playstation controller. Not exactly a lot of capabilities when you are 12,000 ft below the surface. In fact they are claiming that it had 96 hrs of oxygen on it but I would question that stat alone. It would be sad to think they are all down there right now waiting for the inevitable. Or they imploded which would've been quick. Best case, was swept in the current and is currently floating in the surface somewhere.

yeah I saw that part about the controller and how basic the whole thing essentially is, which is crazy considering what you're asking of it and trusting it to do.

I guess even if they did find it, given that they are nearly out of oxygen (if not already), they would still be in trouble because of the time it takes to surface safely from those depths. Unless they could figure out a way to get oxygen to them. But yeah best case scenario they are floating somewhere in the Atlantic and someone finds them asap.

Heat up your surroundings critically and see how you behave, just look at the people in AZ.
