Went to the Anacortes Boat Show yesterday with my dad and sister. This one was Overlandwater AF with a roof tent!

And this one had folding bike racks since they used it to run over to some of the adjacent islands and hit the MTB trails there. $100K+ new though and had the Made in China Amazon Special light bars though.

The boat show parking lot was full of them. I'm finding out that a relatively new forester is code for "I make 6 figure boat money" around here, and if you don't then get in your crosstrek and dream.

Seriously considering a new (to me) vehicle and trying to narrow down the list. Biggest issue is gas here in WA thanks to a new tax bill is quickly approaching $5/gal in my area and exceeds it already in some places.

Current truck is approaching 130k miles, so I'm thinking of selling while it's still in the "good return on trade/sale" territory. Plus tires are gonna need replacing before winter, and a few other maintenance items which I could put into a new vehicle instead of replacing on current.

    The potential list so far:
3rd gen taco (2018-2020) but with less aggressive tires, etc. Lot less rugged BLM land here than in UT.
    5th gen 4runner
New body style Rav4 (since when are they $40k for a mid-trim?!?)
Honda Ridgeline (also insane $ for a damn Honda) since being here in Seattle is a lot more domestic use and little offroad action that can't be done in a non-TRD offroad vehicle

    boo!

Doesnt the 5th gen 4runner get the same mpg as the taco?
Wife has a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid and it usually gets 440 miles per tank

Had to make sure I’m in the right thread, cause OP just said he’s considering a Ridgeline and it’s not even Friday!

I get it though. I’ve been doing a lot more commuting lately too and … ok yeah still pretty much no off roading ever.

4Runners ride real nice. Are you over the GX?

imo the new ridgelines don't look that bad with a little beefier tire on them. Have you thought about getting the new 4th gen taco hybrid? You can put in an order for one in october.

Unless you really want a truck bed, my vote is shying away from the Tacoma (or even a Ridgeline).

    4Runner for ruggedness. At $40k+ for a RAV4, eh.

The idea of a Lexus is growing on me. If you’re thinking of a RAV4 or similar, look into Lexus SUVs.

No, but it's just a 4Runner with a thirstier V8 in it, so sorta takes itself out of the running with the motor. In a cheaper gas state, I'd have a 460 much higher on the list.
