And 7 years ago Toyota started putting the fuel pump ECU on the frame rail. That ECU gets submerged every time I go wheeling. Hasn't failed yet! :fingerscrossed:

Guy in the middle is slacking. That’s like middle guy on a bench seat of a ranch truck. Don’t have to drive, and don’t have to get out and work the gates.

Did Toyota and Mercedes give you all the reasons for doing that to their vehicles?
Keeping water, dust and sand out are all benefits.

Most every vehicle I've owned or worked on had insulation on them. I put it on within the first 400 miles. 012DFCA8-2EAE-424B-ADD9-A5D59851A3FA.jpg

FYI the 4Runner fake hood scoop leaks and wets the hood insulation. Better seal that up with some silicone or you won't be able to sleep at night.

But have you tried sound deadening on the steering wheel yet, so that the horn isn't so loud in the cab?

Dude, give it a break. We come here to shoot the shit and criticize others, all in good fun. We all take it, we all dish it out. It's what a group of people do when having a laugh.
If you want to weatherstrip have at it. @tonered is right, it will trap heat. Will it mess something up? Your call. Would I do it? No, that would mean I have to scrape the inches of dirt, sand and mud that have accumulated over the parts that would be needed. I keep things clean like my battery terminals, oil dipstick, brake reservoir and radiator clean. That inner fender or plastic shroud could care less if it has mud, sand or dirt on it.
You do you, but don't expect everyone to like it.

Sound deadening the gas pedal is pretty helpful, put it around the mounts and it stops that weird gas pedal vibration.

I don't think the seals will do much for water, especially considering the bottom, wheel wells, and grille introduce water as well.

That being said, I've noticed our Tacoma has a seal along the front of the hood that our 4Runner does not have. I believe the seals you're adding may have a minor aerodynamic improvement and could even help prevent hood flutter at high speeds. Not to mention a cushion for some sound deadening. All of these are pretty minor, but nevertheless could be a benefit.

The seals actually made my hood flutter worse for what its worth.

Also makes some sense depending on how many you placed considering it has essentially eliminated some places to relieve that pressure.

I hear more road noise than wind noise...or rather enough to bother me so this isn't for me. That all being said, I've heard a couple of complaints about hood flutter. All vehicles have some, but those complaining have clearly never driven a Ford at highway speeds. Consistently the worst hood flutter I've ever seen throughout many of their vehicles I've driven. (Mustang, Fusion, F150, Explorer)
