Hey bro, do you have a large gap between the end of the tailgate of the truck and the awning? I just installed mine but the space between my RTT and the awning is huge.

So then you adjust the awning toward the front of the truck?

The awning is already pushed far enough forward for me to open the back door but the gap is still too big. I'll take a pic when I open it today.

I had to adjust mine to the rear originally so the hinge would fully open but didn’t want too big of a gap. How long is your awning? I have mine mounted to a GFC.

Looks to me it needs to be raised and slid forward to get it against the rtt.

You need to figure out how to get it higher so it clears your back door and then you can move it forward. Mine sits flush with my shell when opened. I've moved it more forward than these pics.

What mounts are you using and what load bars? I'm trying to figure out what size bolts fit in the front runner load bars.

I used the OVS mounts attached to the RSI Load bars. M8 bolts are what I used in the RSI bars. I think the front runner ones are the same.

@Mike's Custom Toys would probably know what bolts for the front runners.

I think I it is m8 hex bolts but wasn't confident in my memory. Lol
You have any pics of the mount? I believe my bars are 46" and my rtt is 55" so I think the mount will need to gold the awning out roughly 4 inches to clear.

I don't have the awning on right now but here's essentially what mine look like:

Here's the only pic I have on my phone of it somewhat up close from below:

ok yeah I owe some pictures of my awning.I keep the one leg down only to keep that side level due to where the strap is mounted to keep the awning fully deployed. Yes my RTT is off the truck. The Alpha II does not touch or impede the awning at all. when open or closed when on the truck. hope this helps some of you. yes I have a Tundra not a Taco... The mounts are the mounts Voodoo makes for their Max modular rack.

Has anyone mounted one of these to a roof rack instead?

I was thinking of doing this and sliding the awning back as far as possible to get some coverage over the tailgate without needing a bed rack.

This is exactly what I have in mind. Thanks for the pics. I have a few questions hopefully you can shed some light on.

Is this the full size or the LTE?
Does the trailer wheel well seem to ever be an issue as far as hangin out under the awning?
I use a 5x8 utility trailer witch my tent on it, so it doesn’t have as long of a tongue as your setup appears to have. I’m curious how far forward the awning will extend to or even past the back of the truck (my truck has an 8x8 awning already mounted to the roof rack, so I’m hoping I can make the 2 work alongside each other)

Any more pics, your setup is as close to what I’m hoping to have as I’ve seen.

    T Webb
