    Maybe it just stood out more since the thread's been slower lately.

    I think it’s weirder when ask holes come into a thread ask questions then ghost. Figured those who answered my questions would like to know their input is valuable and see the results.

    Oh nothing bad about updating those that helped you; just that content runs so fast here one can barely recall what was talked about a few hours later.

    @treyus30

    Don't know why I didn't even think about it in the first place but, I can simply weld a "ring" protector surrounding the bolt heads for the two lowest bolts the same way most of our differential drain bolts are protected.

    Have a shit ton of 1/4" left over.

    Won't be as cool as that, I mean I wish I had a lathe or something to make something like that.

    Just something like this -

    Toyota_Braced_Diff_(5)-640x480.jpg

    I expect 1/4" round guards would protrude slightly more than the bolt heads I'm using so the guards would receive contact first.

    Think it's a Spanish speaker; description says "was heated" so it might need a head gasket?

    Did interest me which is why I just looked it up :rofl:

    Yeah if it was over heated there is a good chance the head is cracked. I got that 3.4 to swap in, that could be fun.

    It's no secret that I am a BudBuilt fanboi. One of the things I really like about their skid design is the use of carriage bolts in their fitment. It's actually kinda cool to find rock gouges on those round bolt heads.

    I'm familiar with it, I ran one on my 4Runner -

    20210820_145209.jpg

    Not sure you saw what I posted though, regarding my DIY skid.

    Rear mount isn't exactly in a "fixed" position on the frame end so I'd need slight adjustability to fit up the square tube and brackets I intend to "sandwich" the frame with. It's the same method used for bolt-on sliders on Land Cruisers.

    Carriage bolts would've been the best way to go though if all mounting points were fixed.

    Found a picture of me parked between some 80s and next to a 4th gen R4. It looks small compared to the 80s and close in size to the 4R.
