On a semi-related note, does anyone know if you can put a grom in the back of a tacoma with a shell on it? :anonymous:

I'm thinking rolled in leaned over and then stood up once inside.

I've never seen it done or tried myself, but seeing my friends grom I feel like it should be able to fit lol. Those things are so tiny.

Bike update - decided to go orange this year and picked up a 23 125XC and a 24 350XC-F. Three races on the new bike and I’m still amazed she went from the CRF125FB to a 125XC this season.

This years rally was a blast. Last figure I was told, over 6000 people attended. I had some fun in the Taste of the Trophy competition, even if I didn’t win a new set of tires hah. IMG_5876.jpg

Dunlop had their new 50/50 ADV tires on show, the TrailMax Raid. Looks great just not sure how many miles they’ll last. IMG_3463.jpg

I feel you on the compromise. Thats why I went through the conversion process to get my 2014 WR450 street legal here in CA, the green sticker bike was already corked up enough from the factory cus green sticker, 88$ for the GYTR ecu and removal of the throttle stop screw, airbox snorkle and tail pipe restrictor and its a beast. Thats way easier though than the SUPER choked up street legal bikes like the CRF450L/KTM350/500

Shoot me a PM about the tuner, I wont be able to ship it out till Friday or Monday though, so probably best to get the bike, and we can go from there.

I know the 2020 bars are a little different height, but I can get you a measurement to the top of the controls off my 2014 grom (minus mirrors - aint no way its fitting in with mirrors still on).

    PIGS CAN FLY!

sounds hasnt been registered in that persons name, its going to have back fees up the wazoo. Thats why its so cheap and possibly stolen. Get the VIN go to AAA and have them look up fees as well as check the vin for reported stolen.

Though, somehow that person might of bought it new and never had it registered cus that VIN on that page isnt in the CA DMV database. Id still get the full story and do your due diligence by going to AAA or the DMV with the VIN before buying.

If its legit, and you can grab it for 2500 or less and registration isnt more than 500 bucks thats a pretty solid dealio.

Saw a Facebook post this morning from Lisa Rufo, she and Molly are out of the Iron Butt Rally. Bike is totaled, most of the front end is gone. She attributes her minimal injuries to the air bag vest she had on under her Aerostitch. She and Molly will be heading home to MD later today. Her husband Steven is continuing in the rally but will receive a penalty for their team breaking up. Not sure if some leeway will be given as the team break up is the result of a deer strike not a team member just deciding to go home.

Some pigs fly and roll around in the mud on occasion haha.

It’s usually just smoke and mirrors though, these things are heavy AF. IMG_5812.jpg

Yup the conversion for green sticker bikes is pretty manageable, as long as it's pre-2022. think they cracked down on the new models moving forward as well.

And yeah, decided I'm just gonna snag the bike since it is a solid deal anyways, and seller agreed to $4k. Will be picking it up later tonight. I'm actually flying out of town tomorrow but would be great to borrow that GTYR tuner when I get back just to plug it in and see what's what. If you can catch me today before I leave work I can get you a FedEx label for you to ship it out at your convenience, otherwise we can just coordinate when I'm back in country

What is the general consensus on mix-matched tires? Aka I have a great condition rear that Im keeping, but want to change brands on the front..

Part 2 question, who has run Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41 ? @Built2Ride

There should be zero issues running non-matching tires. Might not be a bad idea to keep it in a similar "style" (aka street, 70/30, 50/50) but as long as they're round and made of rubber it should be fine. I'm running a motoz on the front and a trailmax mission on the rear right now. I go through 2 rears for every front so half of them usually end up as non-matching sets.

It depends on your level of OCD. Unfortunately, mine won't allow me to run mix-matched tires, and my wallet hates me for it.

FYI, if anyone is looking for tires, Pirelli extended their rebate through the month of July. I got a $60 rebate for the set of Supercorsa's I bought from Revzilla. I also got a $50 store credit from Revzilla to use during the month of July for my purchase being over $300(?) and the $27 in Zilla cash on top of that for my next order. So yeah, good time to buy Pirelli's from Revzilla.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have run the ax41 on my 1190r before I sold it. I really like that tire and it last a good bit longer than the other tires I usually run.
I can recommend them for sure, and like others have mentioned. Running mix matched tires is usually where you end up eventually after you like the feel of a certain front tire and want something more aggressive in the rear. I have also seen people run a more aggressive tire in the front, and put something on the rear to last them longer.
Riding style plays a big part in all this. I roll MotoZ and have also run the TKCs…the AX41 reminds me of the TKC just wears better IMO, not as soft. The AX41 also clears mud out of its tread rarely well without too much brappp :)
