I have a 2012 TRD Offroad. I'm looking for a 2-2.5-inch lift that is budget-friendly. I'm planning on going on an overlanding trip to Colorado soon. I just don't know where to start.

First and foremost: Why do you want to lift? These are capable trucks. Let us know where you're going in CO and what types of trails you'll be doing. Maybe your money will be best spent on tires and/or gear for the trip.

The short answer you're going to get is Bilstein 5100s being the budget friendly gentleman's lift.

I'm planning an adventure to Alpine Loop. I already have a set of 265/70r17's, but I'm thinking about 2 inches of lift just to be safe. I forgot to mention that I hope to go down Montezuma Basin later next year.

    edit: i forgot a location

People do Alpine Loop in stock vehicles, just FYI. a lift isnt needed at all really for that drive. Good tires, a comparable spare tire, and tools to change it, and gear for your overlanding is where I would be focused.

Suspension lift doesn't raise the low point, the axle lines.

It can improve approach and departure angles, but only you can decide if that's really needed.

Once you add skid plates, sliders, bed rack, roof top tent... the stock suspension will sag from the ~600 lbs or so of extra weight. You will need lift components just to restore stock ride height.

Reasonably-priced decent lift would be Bilstein 5100s or Rancho Quicklift in the front; add-a-leafs and Bilstein 5100s in the rear.

I have a 14. I found icon 2.5 and deavers used. Had them rebuilt. All in under $2500. Also picked up a set of 4 2019 trd pro rims and tires for $1300.

Swipe through my profile and media. Checkout the budget friendly route I went. All for under $1500(excluding tires).
Starting with before and then (I'd say all the way to after but we're never truly finished).
    before
