Nah , not that far to Gods Country , get out of Minnesota and the speed limit is 80 on I 90 until you get to Rapid City the the speed limits drops to 75 boo hoo.
Take I 90 to Spearfish and go south thru Spearfish Canyon absolutely breathtaking keep going south and you will hook back up to US85 at 85 go south to Rapid Creek Rd go left if you miss it you will see Trailshead Lodge gas food bar hotel , talk to Todd the owner and before you is 100s of miles of fire rds , trails , solitude, you will pass by my old ranch 2 miles down Rapid Creek Rd on the right.
Do not miss Mystic Hills Hideaway either.
No haters out there just handshakes and good people.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I'm thinking about this a bit more...your friends are damned fools. The Badlands, Black Hills, Spearfish Canyon, Custer State Park...all very much worth the drive. I will go back to the area again...

Can't seem to remember when it happened, but somehow the underside of my passenger side slider took some damage. :anonymous:

I could probably do a search and find 43 different opinions on how best to fix and paint this damage to the powder coating, but I thought I'd ask in the friendly confines here. I assume I will need to do some sanding and smoothing of the gouged surface and then apply paint. What products do you guys use for touch ups like this?

The POR 15 I use stood up to last winters' salt blasting. Had to do a re-do as the rustoleum was blasted off to bare metal in 3 storms.

Thanks for the recommendation! I will definitely have to check all of this out. Maybe i'll even just solo travel to SD next week. I only get soo much PTO to use every year, why use it on something I don't want to do because my friends are lame?

I should definitely just drop them off at the family campgrounds haha! Sometimes you realize you can't wait on others to see the world.

nothing wrong with solo travel. ive done a ton of it (my friends are also lame).

best part is you can do whatever you want and no one is mad about it.

Like Dave said POR15 is a good one, I think they make a UV stable topcoat now too IIRC. I have used comparable products from another company named KBS. You can get spray cans of a product called Fusion which is a primer and then follow up with something like BlackTop as topcoat/UV protection (flat finish is more like satin than flat and will probably match best).

100% never wait for other people to live your life and travel. I made that mistake when I was younger. Now, other than TW outings/shenanigans I almost exclusively travel solo. All the headaches of planning, coordinating schedules, keeping the troop happy, etc. all go away and you are just free to do what you want at a moment's notice. It's not for everyone, but if you are comfortable doing so it is very liberating.

My grandmother gave me the best advice of anyone. Three simple words: "DO IT NOW." Mostly I think she wanted me to stop procrastinating and do my homework instead of playing video games, but the advice rings true for anything in life. Carpe the diem and all that jazz.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Can confirm. My most recent Michigan vacation was done solo and it was far more enjoyable than I thought it would be. I would be lying if there weren't times where I would have liked someone else along for a company but the overall experience was very relaxed and enjoyable, particularly when exploring in the woods. If I wanted to spend 30 minutes just enjoying the wind and the Sun I didn't feel any pressure to do hurry up and start moving. Same with rock collecting, I was able to look for rocks for hours where usually I always stop early cuz I feel bad for the people with me because they don't like it the way I do even though they say to take my time.

Another fan of traveling solo, here! I've been all over Wisconsin, and travelled to Florida and explored down there by myself, and it's generally very relaxing. As mentioned above, do what you want, when you want, etc... Nobody gets annoyed when I want to fish all day, either. :D

Until I met you guys it was always solo. Not many folks like tight and scratchy… Or exposed and rock strewn… etc, etc
