So an update! The tires are still running like champs!

We elected to NOT do a lift after gaining a bit of clearance. Our truck is still going strong and with one rotation (probably not needed) the tires took us all up and down the Mts with ZERO issues.

Are they the best? Who knows but I figured I would put in an update.

My stock SR5 came with 245/75/R16's.. Firestone somethings.

After 2.5 years I'm in a position now to replace them with something better.

I put Wildpeaks on the wife's subaru last month and really like them and am probably going that route with the SR5.

I want something just a little bigger than these 245/75/R16's but I got no lift, don't want no cuts - not interested in the 'biggest' tire I can put on it.
Just something a little bigger - what is the next size up.

I don't do the kind of off-road stuff some of you folks do - but I will hit forest service roads and the like and want something I can rely on.

Toyo MT are 33.5” OD. TRD lift and some TRD beadlocks work great on my 2022 AC OR.

besides the obvious of the tire being taller and more exspensive what would be the advantage of running a 255-85-16 vs 265/75/16?

I wish my Duratracs came in a 255/85/16. Or any A/T with 3 peak snow designation. :(

The Toyo m55 is a A/T with a 3 peak rating that comes in 255/85r16.

Super heavy though and no sidewall lugs. Otherwise absolutely indestructible tire.

I had coopers in 255 and now I have Wildpeak R/T01 in a 265 and they are the exact same width when I compared them side by side. I will say, this specific tire is much narrow than most. It was an inch and a half narrower than a BFG.....so I see your point, but I don't think there's much skinny differences between the 2. Now a 285.....that's a different story :)

It can be studded too. I use that tire in 235/85/16 as my winters now.

Yep, from my experience 265 and 255s look pretty much the same.
