True, but oversimplified, when the filters were so clogged the performance was noticeably degraded, they were REALLY clogged.

I just use Frame Extra Guard (with the red gasket) from the local big box store.

My 4Runner's Toyota filter with Toyota P/N also has the Fram logo on it, so it's good enough.

Late December is a good time to change the engine- and cabin air filters as all the leaves have fallen by then.

I need a giant filter over my entire truck to protect it from all the bird poop landing on it.

I check mine about every oil change. Replace it about every 7500-10k miles, because it's cheap.

I change mine once a day, or twice if the weather is nice. Just like my oil.

Lift, wheels, tires, sliders, and skidplates...so far.
So, if I understand correctly, a dirty air filter works best and we should make our filters as dirty as possible. Also, we should not oil them because science? I just dumped a shovel full of sand into the air box to test this theory out. #trustthescience.

I read the article, understand it and will say I agree with it and am incorrect on previously saying a dirty air filter spoils fuel economy with a fuel injected engine. Thank you for schooling me
