My girlfriend worried about the property taxes, I assured her that I will make up that difference from sales tax lol

turns out no income tax for her makes it a pretty nice win too

The tax man always gets his way. If you own a bog standard house and regular cars, the numbers shake out similar to other states just from different sources.

NH ranks 16th for effective tax burden. Which is the best in New England.

Yea I found that out. They tax you on other things and vehicle registration and fees are a lot higher than MA

Depending on where you buy in MA property tax is just as bad... I'm paying 22.50 per thousand whereas my last place in Waltham, MA is currently at 21.95.. going from a 700k house to a 400k house was a nice drop though, especially when I upgraded to a 1 acre lot from a mailbox sized lot haha. Doubled my livable space and tripled my workshop space.

My property taxes just dropped from 21.86 to 14.76, after the assessment ever 3 years. Taxes paid went up 1.5% YOY, even though the bottom fell out of the rate.

I bought my house basically exclusively cause it had 5 acres and a 30x40 pole barn. Workshop space is great

The barn is why I bought my property, the house is alright... haha

Surprisingly I did most of the work on the truck in Waltham. Now I'm spoiled working in the barn...

I know, but now you have all the space and quite a bit of loft storage

No problem at all, it went wayy smoother then I was thinking it would and the end product was pretty good for being hacked and weldeded back together 3 times.

    Edit: top is 05-11

I have a brand new 10x20 greenhouse, same as the carport but opaque cover, free if you want or got space for it.
(If he says no the offer stands for anyone)
