Hi! I was in an accident a few weeks ago and insurance company has informed me truck is a total loss - they've offered me $21,129.00. Does that sound reasonable?

    2011 Tacoma TX Pro package
    158k miles
Full OME lift/suspension BP-51's front and back (w/add a leaf)

I'm hoping to keep the truck (I live in NV) and see if there are any mechanically inclined Tacoma bros to give it a new life.

Id look around, cus "TX Pro" package was pretty rare you might be able to use that to your advantage for better market eval.

That stated thats a decent price for payout.

It was kinda like the Baja and a few other type "special" trims before the official TRD Pro was a thing. They were pretty desirable at least for a while.

That said, I'm pretty sure it was just a set of TRD beadlocks, a graphic, and they might have had a beefier set of shocks, but I can't remember.

Special wheels, exhaust, and and stickers.
The wheels are what make it worth more for the most part.
I’d see if they would let me swap wheels before they take it.
That is, if the wheels are good?

Definitely swap out whatever you can, they’ll just auction it off and whoever buys it will make profits. Some insurance companies will even let you in on the auction, I was able to purchase the leftover body of a VW van that I had that was stolen, and I was able to rebuild it.

Kind a hard to tell what happened underneath the back end of the frame with the axle turned like that.

I noticed "Frame pull" on the estimate. Assuming frame may have a little damage.

That’s probably why they want to total it. Their offer seems too low to me.

The problem you are going to have is getting real market data in order to get more money.
I did a brief search, all the Tx/Pro trucks I found were sold 3+ years ago and for $20k-24k.
And the rest I found just said, “Sold”. You may need to find a comparable 2011 and add the cost of the Tx/Pro package.

Personally, I think $21k is pretty close to fair.
But this market is crazy. I’ve said numerous times.
My truck isn’t work $10k. But I couldn’t find a truck like mine for $10k.
    So, I’m keeping.
