More recently, 48 and 47..two of my friends since I was 19 and 13, respectively

 

A lot of people have been passing lately, it's really weird.

 

Liver failure and cancer in that order. The liver failure was internal damage from a car accident long ago, though he never was good about being healthy

 

Local brewery had a memorial for a fellow regular. He was in the hospital for other health issues then got COVID and didn't come out.

You never know.

Still wearing white tank top and pumping iron though be well

 

You need to switch it up and start drinking real beer.


On a side note, I’ve not been lifting for a week due to being on vacation. Back now and ready to get to the gym. Sure was nice to be away from the home base.

 

I ride BMX, don't drink alcohol, and need to get my weight room reassembled. Been a bedroom for 2 years for medical reasons.

Hit the gym today. Going back to your normal routine after not doing it over a week isn’t easy. I know I’ll get it all back soon but…I’m tired!

 

I know this thread has been quiet but the lifters are still out there… We just show up, put in work, stay humble, and repeat (also run and enjoy the occasions beer too)

I recently decided to shift my lifting focus from strength training to hypertrophy and it’s been a kind of rejuvenating to be honest. For the past 7 years I had dedicated the purpose of my training solely to pushing maximal strength and competing in strongman but after some big life changes and about 2 years of me being a stubborn ass, I finally allowed myself to deviate from that path.

 

No Sir. Still driving my 08 and hit the gym today. Did some extra shoulder shrugs on the smith machine and listened to some heavy metal for the workout. I usually listen to something hard hitting when I’m lifting weights. You still going strong?

 

I have 2 little ones, just turned 45, and hitting it hard! 16 yr old me took the marathon not a race serious! 29 yrs this December be well

 

Any foam rolling likes dislikes? Finally adding some recently.

 

I used to foam roll before sessions. I felt good afterwards but ultimately it took too long for my time constraints and ditched it for different movement specific warm ups. Though now that you bring it up maybe I should start doing it at home afterwards?
