    Which battery are you planning to use with that model?

    Do you not have M18 batteries? If you don’t watch Home Depot for their 6.0Ah H.O. combo deals. IIRC they have been about $299 for two 6.0 with a free tool.

    Those be some good deals. I was just playin. Already got more batteries than I need. I’ll probably run the 6.0s or the 8.0 to save some on the weight but it’s good to know that the 12.0 fits as well.

    How is the balance with the different sized batteries?

    If you’re interested about a year ago I wrote up changing my M18 chainsaw over to a more aggressive chain and smaller bar combo. I really like the improvement of the saw.

    I tried the 6.0 but it seems better balanced with the 12.0

    @BlackPearl
    M18 chainsaw review with 12” Oregon Bar and chain.

    Good replacement for Stihl MS 192TC that I used to have. It is by no means a replacement for the FarmBoss 290!

    The Oregon bar and chain are slightly larger gauge but the chain is shorter and oils well with the existing oiler. 0.043 narrow kerf of the Milwaukee stock bar and chain IMHO are too small and leads to more binding when cutting. The Oregon bar I chose came with a chain and had a part number of 27792.

    I feel like the M18 chainsaw is a better fit for the 12” bar combination and would recommend it to others at this point. We are still talking that the M18 with a 12” bar can handle a tree diameter of 20-24” which is much larger than any on the properties I currently own. I’m only a few cuts in but feel confident this is the right modification to the saw.
    * Edit final note:
    The key to my cross reference to make sure the bar and oiler style fit was the A041 bar mounting type.

    Kinda how I feel about this. Love the extended reach and low profile design, but being tied down by a proprietary socket design is a real turn off. This will be a pass for me.
