I was just asked to let some contractors in at one of the buildings off of campus. Drive out there and my card access doesn't work. It did last time I was here a few months ago. It would be nice if they'd stop messing with stuff!

 

Tried to get into work early the other day & the whole reader was gone. Ripped off the wall & gone. I’m gonna miss that reader. The new ones you practically have to make intimate contract with. That old one would activate just walkin’ by. Gotta love New technology

 

A couple years before I retired from the FD, we installed a new system and as a Chief Officer I could open any doors from my phone.

I could let in contractors or repairmen etc from the comfort of my couch. I could also open the bay doors while I was approaching the station so I could just run in when there was a call.

 

I called one of our locksmiths and they couldn't card access into the door, either, but he has all the keys so just unlocked it and went in. Then he tells me that he has access to the system and could unlock it from his desk.

Because that all makes sense.

Well, don't let it sit in the garage for another 18 months this time...

Good morning everyone

Got the lawn cut last night, happy not to have to do it this weekend.

Anyone have any ideas on how to lessen dust blow up from a lawn? One of the houses I cut has a lawn that’s been neglected for years, probably less than 50% grass with weeds taking over. The place looks like the dust bowl whenever I cut it.

I was thinking of overseeding clover all over it..

 

Raise your deck as high as possible.

 

But then the weeds will be too high

Just how big of a yard?

Having enough rain or will you need to water till the seed gets a foot hold?

Winter rye works as a quick grower to hold the soil.

in the short, maybe water it first… worse mow, but better debris control.
