Usually the simplest explanation is the right one. Dodgy engineered submersible, thrill seekers that have more dollars than sense. Not to mention the Polar Prince is tracked so somehow they would've had to get off that ship (or not gotten on at all) and disembarked on a different ocean going vessel that was staying off the GPS tracking that ships use in the open ocean. Plausible, sure, but it's a harder sell than the one we currently accept.
They heard noises but weren't able to identify what they were. Being that there were a lot of assets in the water, it would be like trying to hear a fart in a loud restaurant. You may hear it but don't know where it came from or who it was. Honestly it's surprising the govt showed their hand about hearing the implosion. It doesn't add anything to the outcome. The conspiracy there is once they made the discovery of the debris field it is mighty convenient to say "ya we heard it" so our adversaries would think twice about our listened capabilities in the Atlantic.

And to those that say "they heard it, why send rescue teams?". They heard something but they indeed would have to verify that data with corroborating evidence. I think there would be an uproar if they heard something, said "we heard a bang so we aren't going to do anything as they are dead" but we're found weeks later floating on the surface in their coffin. That would be a major embarrassment and a much more horrible outcome. They needed to verify that it was what they thought it was and that something else was going on in the ocean in that area. It's a sad situation and I'm thankful that my family members weren't on that submersible as I would be subjected to the onslaught of memes, although some are quite hilarious, it would sting if it was my family.

So for the last month, our shipping department has planned on having their annual review meeting here in the big empty room next to my photo studio, since...well..no one works in that room anymore.

HR came to me a few weeks back telling me they were planning on doing it there, I said that's fine just so long as they are aware that we will probably be shooting that day and the strobes going off constantly could be annoying. She sort of half acknowledged what I said, probably didn't really realize what it meant.

Today the head of shipping comes by to look see how the room setup is going for the meeting at 2pm, I tell him we have a shoot today from about 11am until 5. He does not take the news well. Yay for communication

Let's see, you want to have a big presentation meeting in a room right next to an active photo studio but you don't want photo studio things to happen in it, makes perfect sense.

luckily they are moving it to their own break room which is where they usually have it, don't know who's genius idea it was to try and have it over here in the first place.

I know, logic tends to do that. I get the hate for billionaires but I don't think it transfers directly to billionaires deserve to die because they are billionaires. Remember, 2 of the people on board were on a father/son trip. Some form of empathy should be exercise IMO. At the end of the day, it will be a monument to submersible safety going forward. As James Cameron pointed out in his interview, deep sea vessel design is a mature art. There have not been very many incidents because the formula has been figured out. Then you have this guy who wants to buck the trend, has said out loud that safety gets in the way of things, and refused to hire subject matter experts as they aren't inspirational, it was only a matter of time this was going to happen.

so last night I think I found the culprit...Dex likes to chase possums on the side of the house where we don't like him going so I block it off pretty well, but where there's a husky there's a way. Found a semi-freshly half eaten baby possum back there, that was fun to clean up. I'm guessing that's what gave him his paint stripping farts a couple nights ago, unless it was another creature that ate it. But given his history of catching possums, I'm thinking it was him.

@Speedytech7 so it appears the input shaft on the R150F is longer on tacomas compared to it on pre-tacos. Have you ever messed with this? How hard of a job would it be to swap it out? Would a bell housing spacer plate accomplish the same thing for less? Looks like that's one of the big hurdles with the swap. Advance also said that the swaps eat through clutch discs pretty fast which I found odd. I would assume that going to a more aggressive clutch disk or pressure plate would solve that?
