Does people re gear prior to tune? What happened to starting with the basics? At the moment you go pass the boundaries some repercussions will occur. I have driven 3g’s on stock gearing moving 33”s/35”s and you can definitely experience the infamous gear hunting. Once you tune the truck those issues get corrected. Remember start basic before breaking the bank(I know I know, for some people 3k is nothing but for some it’s a bag) Cheers!

I regeared right after going to 35s. I left it alone when running 33s since my truck is not daily driven but it did bug me when I drove it causing me to enable ECT or putting the auto transmission in "manual".

Regearing made a huge difference w/ the stock tune. No gear hunting at all. I wanted to mechanically fix the issue prior to fixing it via software.

Absolutely, that’s what I tell customers and friends first tune then drive it and then you pull the trigger on gearing. for some in flat leveled places and close to sea level a simple tune could do the trick. Again, I am a big fan of properly equipping a vehicle and personally I’ll be going for tune+gears of rolling on 35”s. Or bigger. Cheers

you should have measured your mpg before new tires and after lift.
maybe the lift was the reason... and it wouldn't be "maybe" had you tested it with the old tires... do you still have them?

    A few.
You stated that you previously had stock wheels on and now switched to an aftermarket wheel. Are the new wheels wider than stock? Also what type of tire was the previous 265/75/16? The BFG,s are one of the most aggressive of the all terrain type tires which could cause more rolling resistance. Also how much air is in the new tires?

    Transmission won’t relearn. Gotta regear.
