What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Realllly smolllll update (literally) but I'm geeking out about it too much to wait to post it with other things.

Last night I swapped out the white cubby light for one that comes on the RAV4 that matches the rest of the blue interior lighting. It's way cooler than it should be and it is a direct swap. Took about 5 min to install, but if you have sausage fingers you will not have a good time. Worth it though.

Washed and waxed my baby. Used the Toyota pinstripe remover (touch up paint pen) on a few spots

roof had a pretty annoying rock chip right in the middle where the windshield joins

 

Should be PNP. Pull the USB port out of the dash, plug the extension cord into it, run the extension into the glovebox and plug the adapter into it. Get a blank (or a switch, etc. for an accessory) and pop it into the opening where the USB port used to be. Done. Or did I miss something else you want to do?

EDIT: Having said that, I searched and couldn't find reference to the size of the existing USB port's opening so that something else could be installed there. So I created a post to see if anyone knows what size it is...

If you go lower, the screen will tell you to get fuel. Been there 2-3 times, looking for a place. Too big a pucker factor to get like that...

would i need to already have apple car play in the taco? or will this add it? i have a 19 and it did not come with it

 

Anyone know when Toyota parts sales are during the year? I see it referenced in this thread often but never get notified by Toyota?

 

I was hoping for something around July 4th. I noticed Toyota parts changed their website layout a bit and my go to out of state dealers are now charging sales tax. FREESHIP still seems to be working on most things though.

 

Yes, your head unit needs to support CarPlay. The adaptor is really just a Bluetooth receiver that in turn sends the same signals the actual iPhone would send to the head unit. It cannot add that capability. Sorry.
I really thought I'd use CarPlay more than I do. With Bluetooth I can do most everything from my phone (Audible, Amazon Music, Apple Music, etc.) and just send it through the Bluetooth channel. Where I use it most is for maps/navigation and of course I only need that going to some place new.

 

Installed my RCI Sliders Finally. Been sitting in my garage for 2 months. lol

 

Bed stiffeners to help out with the weight of the new topper. I might not have needed them given that I don't do any off-road stuff other than some dirt and fire roads, but figured it was a cheap insurance policy.

 

Same reason I did mine. It's cheap insurance for what could go wrong by not adding them. The only downside I've seen is that it does narrow the area to slide things in and out of the bed. That being said, I like the peace of mind that comes with having them on there. I have a Prinsu rack on top of my Leer and plan to have a RTT on there from time to time and didn't want to chance any issues. I like that bed mat you have, do you have a link? I made mine out of a horse stall mat and looking to get something a little nicer perhaps.

 

It's a Bedrug bed mat (not the full liner). I like it because its easy on the knees and you can hose it off if need be, but it looks like a rug

These look so good! I can't wait to get mine. If all goes well, I'll have a set on my truck in the fall.

 

I love the redesign with the top plate that is removable. Wish my RCI sliders were like that

 

Are those the 5 degree sliders? And how easy was the install? I have a set that should be here in a few weeks.

 

I have never done anything like this before so we will see how it goes. I am mostly using this as my guideline and will try to keep it simple.
