new to me 2008 head unit angle...am I crazy?

Heres the story. New to me truck with crap chinesium head unit with scosche facia bezel. Radio sits inward, Normal angle, no excessivetilt or glare. See picture one and two.

Do the new headunit thing using a "Pac", bezel and new Pioneer. Problem IS the installed screen angled is WAY up. Glare is hidious. Installer says thats normal Tacomas, "I've done all sorts of em". See picture three and four

    Am I crazy?

Different bezel kits will have different characteristics. I have the black Scosche TA2111B bezel kit in my '15 (shown below, best photo I have saved right now) and it doesn't seem to have as much tilt as your photos, don't notice any bad glare or anything either. Maybe just buy a different bezel kit and ditch the PAC.

Yes you have the scosche like the first one pictured (was in the truck originally.) I liked the proper tilt. 444.13735.600x400.TA2053B_2.jpg

The shop only sells pac I guess. Its pretty worn, I think ill carbon fiber decal the scosche and try it with that.

Along with past personal vehicles and alongside my resent research its showed me.
1 there is no standard viewing angle to any oem vehicle or aftermarket install kit.
2 upward angle tends to increase glare depending on variables
3 the shorter you are the more you need downward angle. Wife drives mostly @ 5'5"
4 the scosche kit is the most down angled and the pac is the most upwards tiĺt. I guess engineers are only giants or midgets
