Probably another one who would have knowledge @Empty_Lord do you know if swapping an earlier and short input shaft for the R150 is the possible into the later R150 from the Tacoma. Most things suggest it's the same with just a different length. Curious if you know.

 

Honestly not sure. But if it’s like the transaxles, anything in the r series likely can be switched around. The only question would be if the shaft was redesigned for updated synchros like the early vs late e153s

 

They are actually good to have around. They eat ticks, insects, and garbage. It's unlikely they will have rabies. Nature's clean-up crew.

 

Most of what I read says the R trans are the same internally, the F model is for 4x4 models but internally still the same. Then for 96 and up the input shaft is longer (0.50-0.75" depending where your read). I guess the next question is, how do I find out the differences? Advance Adapters doesn't know, my Toyota guru#1 (you) doesn't know. I don't know of my Toyota guru#2 (Zane) has played with these trans much to know. Hmmmm

 

yeah they're naturally immune to rabies and Lyme disease, I guess their body temp doesn't get high enough for them to carry some common diseases and parasites.

Any wireless winch remotes you guys can recommend?

 

For only $40 I'd gamble on the HF badlands one and leave the wired remote under a seat or something just in case

 

Definitely gonna have the wired remote. Wireless is just convenient

If I have a spotter you can make them used the wired remote and consider that wireless from the driver seat

That child should never been allowed on that trip. Talk about gross negligence. Having no concept of the potential danger. Cameron was prob the most informative of all. Knew monday what happened, knew hull shoulda been 7" and knew the carbon expands and contracts and you will never see tears inside it. Im all about unregulated exploration but leave civilians out of it!

 

Much rather have those little guys and gals around than rats and mice and raccoons.

I mean the kid was an adult, but still. My understanding is not only was a cylinder not a great choice as most other subs for those depths have a spherical pressure chamber for obvious reasons, carbon fiber itself I've read is t ideal either. It's best strength is in tension but as a pressure vessel it would've been in compression. It's one thing to make bad engineering choices, it's another to be told why it's not a good choice and why it's not safe and say"safety is just waste" as the owner of the sub said .

 

Haha, no bears regularly and never peacocks here, but plenty of fox and skunks as well as coyotes and deer.
A possum got into my folks garage years back and was just hanging out eating the dog food. We sat in the driveway and had a drink until it got its fill and casually walked out, like, "Thanks guys."
