And now it’s here in our little part of the internet world. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Old me says no way, but I’m really kind of curious to see where this goes.

    fun fact:
i know a gal who used to do a lot of charity/volunteer work in high school and one of the groups she was a part of would deliver food boxes to the needy. they regularly made deliveries to Ted's cabin. she even met him a couple of times.

Unfun fact: Ted Kaczynski was doomed from the start. Apparently as a baby was in the hospital for a long while and was never held or nurtured. Screws up your psyche. Then later was a part of a CIA LSD experiment and the CIA gave him way too much. CIA is fucked up like that.

Discovered this vehicle off trail on a hike to a fishing spot about 40 years ago in a very remote area. This picture is from a few years ago. Always wondered the make and year. It has to be there since the 1930's. Maybe stolen and driven in. If I had to guess I would say early/mid '30s and on the make I would say Ford.....Maybe Dodge. It hasn't been picked at to remove things over the years, probably because of it's remote resting place. No vandalism that I have ever noticed. One year we found the rear doors off by themselves leaning on a nearby tree. A few years later they were leaning on the car next to their original spots on the car. One hint that might help identify the make: When originally found the lower grill was completely visible and showed a prominent scoop shape forward at the bottom, lining up with and following the fender shapes. (which are massive on the front and lower front, next to and below the headlamp pods). The grill was also intact but age-damaged and over the years has fallen apart. There was also a lot of wood framing in the interior and doors, which is now all gone.

Spooky. Maybe the original owner is resting near-by and is working on a restoration?

Looks like something right out of: "True Detective: Season 1". If it was me that came across it I would have taken the picture from a lot farther away than that.

It is a GM car, 1934 or 35, it is a lower line car as evidenced by the short distance between the door and hood opening. I'm guessing Buick, Pontiac or Oldsmobile.

Initially I thought a Chev, however the firewall stamping is wrong from all the photos I looked at. Also the Chev being the cheapest car has smaller (less long) headlights.

1934 Chev, the door to hood gap is right and the trim lines too.

    1934 Chevrolet Master 4-door sedan - for sale - left side.png

    Chev firewall, not a match.

    1381974398335.jpg

The Pontiac had the same main body as the Chev but a longer wheelbase, all hood and fenders, to accommodate the longer straight eight engine. The headlights are correct.

    1934 Pontiac Eight 603 4-door sedan - Mecum - left side.png

    Which brings us to Buick.

Zoom in on this photo and you can see a very similar firewall stamping.

The Chev, Pontiac and Oldsmobile had a larger rear quarter window that opened, the Buick a smaller window. Our photo doesn't quite show the window but it looks to be the shorter version.

All these clues are now available on my phone and the next time I'm at the site, I'll reference them. Might be a few years though....;)
