I talked to my advisor yesterday on early retirement. He ran a few scenarios and it’s fully feasible to do. Wifey isn’t too happy about me thinking about not going back.

My boss started balking about a reduction in my schedule when I talked with him, yesterday.

Also, just got back from an interview with a company that is close to my home. 6:45 to 2:45. I could do that - I’m already going in at that time and working till 4. Getting out early would be nice. Pay rate is the issue. They might be so far off that they won’t even make an offer even though I asked them to and I’d evaluate.

 

One of the nice things about being semiretired, you can get to the box office when it opens. No stupid extra fees on already expensive shows. This is a great venue to see shows, less than 2000 seats. The seats five rows up are$100 more, there isn’t a bad seat in the place.

When I go back to work it will be part time, boss is good with it. I’m doing it to stay active, and I really enjoy building guitars, even though I don’t play. It’s a financial hit but worth it for us, plus Social Security kicks in next February.

My wife and I saw him, and Eric Gayles here in our town in early May. A bucket list item for me, for sure. We were 6th row from the stage on the floor, center section. I've never been that close at any concert in my 40 years of going. But I knew seeing him was not going to be like any other concert I had, or will ever see again. And I was not disappointed. He is, to my knowledge, ,the very last of the OG Blues masters still alive and touring. When he is gone, it will never be the same again.

With the "cancelation insurance" on our tickets, I paid ~$180 for the pair.

 

Saw him a few years ago, great show. Last of the greats, right there with Muddy and BB.

 

afternoon all. Back to retired life after next week.... been enjoying the part time gig.... oh, well. Time to go cut the grass before the skies open again

 

Go, volunteer part-time for a few hours at the USO or something.
