60+ year old thread.

I did the classic walk around in the shallow end of the Pool at the YMCA, the weightless feeling it gave me was priceless. Funny how I felt like I weighed 500 lbs by the time I reached the top of the steps, leading out of the pool.

Somewhere in the garage, there is a notebook of laminated copies of every H2O PT exercise they gave me! And I need to find it this year.

 

It looks fun to me too. Doing it myself is on my bucket list.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

 

Actual prescribed therapy. The first neurosurgeon I went to gave me a referral. He said it would help me but any relief is only temporary. Cost so far has been $20 out of pocket. I feel it will be helpful in the long run. I was finally able to set an appointment date with the Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon on the 26th of July for a consultation.

Good morning. Off to a quick 30 minutes on the recumbent bike in the gym then off to a land bases therapy session. We are headed out to an early dinner with music today.

Anyone have experience with Deka Car Batteries? The Avalon needed a battery replacement. The OEM battery lasted 6 years.

Pretty sure the battery in the Tacoma is a DeKa . My mechanic recommended it . 4 years old at the moment .

 

First day of a 5 day vacation today. I'm about to pack up my motorcycle and head out for a few days to I don't know where. Just me, the bike, and the road. First leg will be highway to visit a friend on the other side of the state, and then it will just be state roads and backroads, staying off the highways.

sixtys/wannabes/soggy souls. It's wet here but warm, so I am prepping to go watch the loonies go up Duryea Drive.

That's the idea! I need to get it in shape -- it was a bit further gone than I anticipated, mostly from sitting still for almost 30 years. The car had 535 miles on it when I got it. And I need to get me in shape too, in the form of a competition license.

East Penn Manufacturing is just over the hill from where we live. They make Deka batteries. I get seconds from them for our cars (cosmetic blemishes). They make a lot of different brands of battery.

 

I've had a great lesson in getting old over the last few days. My two kids and their families have come to see us and among the oodles of energetic activities we've done, my son and SIL decided to help me strip the '78 Chevy truck down to the frame so I can put the M37 body on it. It is amazing how my strength has diminished and how theirs is so impressive. And their speed... I still have something over them though. When we have to figure out a way to get something done due to weight or awkward mass it's me that finds a way. But damn these guys are strong.

Relaxing on the deck last night we spent some fun time shooting nerf bullets out into the yard and laughing as the two littlest ones (4 and 2 1/2) raced each other to retrieve them. The little one is a ball of energy with pudgy legs.

 

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! We don't have a "baking sun" icon, but that's us again. Over 100+ for the next seven days, with not a chance of rain in sight. Nothing urgent on my list, and no plans....might have to putz in the pool for a while!
