Just picked up a 2023 Trd Off-road 4 weeks ago. I was looking at sliders and went out to look at the frame mounting locations. I noticed this wiring harness in the driver wheel well that was exposed and then mounted to the frame on the driver side. Any one else have a similar wiring harness or know what it’s for. Being in the wheel well seems exposed and strange it is there. Thanks for the help.

So that is normal on these trucks. The wheel well part just looks darn vulnerable.

I believe it is typical. I have never had mine fail and haven't read one single post on a failure there, but have read several asking why/what this is.

2023 SR5 delivered mid-August 23: harness is generally on top of the frame. None on the outside as shown above.

My initial concerns were the same as yours, my 2021 OR harness is positioned exactly the same as your pictures, not on top of the frame. People doing a body mount chop or relocation are taking it into account when cutting and welding.

Is anyone familiar with the clips that hold the wiring harness to the driver-side frame rail. Accidentally pulled harness away from clips when installing rock sliders and hoping someone might have a solution they’ve done or ideas for some way to secure so it doesn’t become an issue especially on trails. Really appreciate any suggestions. Thx.

Plastic wire ties are available with eyelets to secure with screws or accessories that provide an attachment point for the ties.
Alternatively, plastic coated metal clamps for wire bundles may be secured with screws. TEK screws are self-drilling and may be used to quickly attach the plastic tie eyelets or bundle clamps to the frame.
Orient the clamps so the wire loom is on top of the frame, but the attachment point is on the side where you can get to it.
