Automatic Transmission Does Not Shift Correctly

Awesome job guys .
I am out at camp trying to diagnose why my signal lights stopped working in my Tacoma or I would be in here assisting you guys

Got it . Just a 15 amp fuse in the engine compartment . Years ago , I put LED signal lights in and installed resistors . Well , the resistors corroded and shorted to ground .

 

I have multi media which has a lot of options. Do I want DCV or ACV ?

I’ve got to mow a large lot.
It usually takes me 3-4 hours to get done.

Well I'm not "here" in the sense I can look up and post stuff at the moment but I can try to keep things in line, I have much more time at night to do this kind of stuff.

 

So pin 2 D + 4 is not drawing any power. When I shift to L or 1 it then draws the 9.7V the other gears were drawing. The rest seem to be functioning normal.

It's odd, there's no wire coming out of Pin2 and I can't locate it on the diagram. What am I missing ?

 

That’s because the 2 pin is on connector IH1. We are bypassing that connector.
You are essentially using the body ground as “pin 2”. Ignore pin 2.

For all the test. Keep the black lead on a body ground.

 

So, PB3 Blue/Black wire has NO voltage with the shifter in the D position?

 

You are placing the shifter in each gear for each test right?

 

Yes I went thru all the pins mentioned in @Dm93 originally post with the help of your labelled pictures.

Oh idk why I thought it was PB2 for D. One minute.

After running the test for D in PB3 not PB2 my mistake. It is drawing 9.7V like the rest. Seems like no issues on this part.

 

Yeah. But did you test all the other pins for NO voltage. The EXCEPT pins.
You may have voltage on other pins when there isn’t supposed to be.

I remember one case where a member here had some bleed over voltage because of a bad switch and connector.

 

If you are finding that everything is checking out good , there is still that service bulletin issue that I listed back on Post # 15

Backprobing the harness is also performed in that procedure , so you are getting some good practice and learning something new

Good job so far . Most guys wouldnt tackle this on their own .

Dm93 post is not the same wiring as your truck.
The pins he listed are not the same as yours.
