Threw on some 255/80/17s! No lift (currently), and so far zero rubbing from street driving. Including steep up and down on driveway in forward and reverse, forward and reverse at full lock on level ground, and ruts/dives/slopes/bumps on the road. Haven’t been off-road yet.

True 33” and no cutting or trimming! I do have the front mud flaps off, and the TRD Pro wheels have a +4mm offset which helps a lot.

These are the new Falken RT (R/T01). They measure 33.3”, feel good on the road with little to no noise, look great, and were not bad price wise.

    Enjoy!

Was this sprayed from a rattle can, rolled on, or applied with a paint gun? Turned out quite nice!

Thanks! I think it can be applied all 3 ways. I took it as an excuse to buy a compressor and sprayed with a paint gun to get a finer texture.

All in all it was probably as much as paying for line-X or Maaco but I still have half the paint for other projects

Installed new 6x9 speakers in my front doors. Sound is already noticeably better than stock, and I’ll eventually do the rear doors.

After install I noticed a 1/4” gap at the bottom of the door panel near the speaker? Anyone else have this? My assumption is the 6x9 I got is not the “exact size” as the stock ones. Might need to shave down the inside plastic that is contacting the outside edge of the speaker.

At 220K miles, conducted oil change on rear and front differential and transfer case. Went a bit longer than planned between changing. Make sure to check your part numbers for the plugs and washers for they have changed. Same part number for rear and transfer case drain and fill plugs now. Also upgraded to the Lexus 14mm hex bolt head drain and fill plugs for the front differential.

Sport wheels and your tire choice actually look pretty good on your truck. Don’t see that combo too often on pre 2020’s. And yes these trucks can be goats!

    90k oil change.

I think I went way too long on time duration (not mileage though) between the last change so bought a paint pen to write date and mileage on the filter this time.

I don't really sweat the time on mine any more. I went 16 months on my final 3rd gen oil change but that was only 2300 miles. My current 2nd gen I change every 3000 miles but that is roughly 18 months. These semi or full synthetic oils are not hurt even at 5000 miles. At least not for my mostly mild driving habits. It will be another 12 to 14 months before I hit the next 3000 miles on mine. At my rate of driving my 2008 may hit the 100k mile mark around my 71st birthday in 2030. Can't see dumping clean oil with no miles on it. I considered doing a oil drain and fill every 6 months and a filter change once a year. I just can't justify the extra work. When I sold my 3rd gen in mid 2021, after 5.5 years, it only had 25k miles on it. I only averaged around 4000 miles a year on that one when I was still working. We usually fly for trips. I-95 from here to Florida and back is a nervy buzz kill. Even with the Charlotte or Atlanta layover we get there in 4 hours without needing I-95 induced xanax.

Ya I bought my parents 4runner which i now daily 95% of the time so mileage on the Tacoma has significantly decreased. Although, after this oil change the Tacoma does seem to run a bit smoother but could be just my mind. I'll probably just do year intervals if i don't reach the 5k mile mark in that timeframe.

Check out the first post on this thread for the cowl induction snorkel. Wire mesh on the sides of the cowl area and over the cabin air intake. They should have a hard time chewing through that metal.
