It's been raining for the last 24 hours.

And looks like that is supposed to continue until 2pm Sunday.

So much for finally getting those plants in the ground.

Mother Nature is just softening the ground for you.. less work later. We're in a severe drought around here.. it rained for less than 10 minutes... most we've had all month

Wasn't too many years ago we were dealing with flooding so I am not complaining!

Took the wagon out for ice cream, 75 mile trip. ;)

Found this for sale along the way.
The sign says it is a 65 Ranchero which is a Ford.

That is a Mercury Comet nose though, the Falcon and Comet were the same under the skin, but Mercury never marketed a compact truck.

    KIMG3176.jpg

The fender and door lines matched perfectly. The rear view is 100% Falcon/Ranchero.

    KIMG3175.jpg

    KIMG3178.jpg

Also took the opportunity to wash the wagon a bit, AKA: got caught in the rain.

Filled the tank - 17.74 mpg. Pretty good for 4200 pounds & 57 years old. :)

I have a friend that is a ford nut and I’ve seen these before…
You are correct, it’s a comet front end. They slang these as Comancheros. The rear end is sometimes changed, as in you’re already making magic… Cool find!
PS, he liked your Marauder find. He liked the later series too. He actually owned the Mercury Marquis LXE (destroyed in a highway rearend by a big truck). It was the precursor for the marauder (by one year), with everything a police package had but with luxury and a center console/bucket seats.

The Comet isn't a real common car to find any more, I don't remember the last time I saw one on the road.

The Marauder was a find by @Taco critter, he is at the opposite end of the state. ;)

Harbor Freight small sand blast cabinet... $180

    Instead...
A $15 clear tote with lid

    Cheap ass sand blasting cabinet!

    20230624_181105.jpg

Not pictured, but I did spend another $15 for long arm rubber sand blasting gloves.

Side view.. you can kinda see the gun and air hose.

    20230624_181116.jpg

I already owned the sand blaster canister from Harbor Freight from a previous project.

    20230624_181125.jpg

The sand was captured in the tote, then ran through a screen and dumped back in the canister for another use. The sand that leaked on the table was also saved to use again.

The gloves weren't long enough to attach to the lid like a regular cabinet but it did allow me to get my small parts in and out of the hand holes without lifting the lid.

Not a perfect solution, but MUCH cheaper

I'd love to find a gm wagon from the 60s or 70s. Then resto-mod it into a sweet daily
