Is this a direct replacement for the plastic one? No modifications required?

It bolts to the engine perfectly, but the coolant feed port for the heater is in the wrong spot. A 90 elbow will solve the issue.

Yes, there will be a small batch available.

This is a PITA job… best to leave it alone until it needs it, or you happen to be in there.

Probably close to the retail price of the parts new via USA Lexus dealers… it’s about $155 for the part + gaskets right now. Available sometime this summer.

Anyone think changing the fluid out sooner and more frequently will make it less acidic ? And perhaps not weaken it it.

From the available reading, heat, moisture, and more specifically those combined to form steam, are the main enemies of these engineered plastics. This coolant piece is in a position where it has to take just about all the engine will give, that being the cylinder head outlets.

Keeping coolant in top condition certainly won’t hurt anything… but be aware it is called SLLC for a reason, it does last. The days of old used up green coolant that will turn brown, and eventually sludge, are pretty much behind us.

It's a lot of work according to the tech who replaced mine a few years back.
