    1996 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L Manual
Hi all! Been a lurker here for a while and have referenced this forum for a lot of my DIY repairs on my Tacoma.

Alas, I am now at a loss and have tried searching this website for someone with a similar issue but haven't found much (if you know of a thread that will help, I would much appreciate it!), so I decided to make an account and post a thread about this in case anyone has any ideas.

Some backstory: this is a 1996, 2.4L Tacoma (2WD, manual, powered windows, non-powered mirrors). On the driver's side, the window control for the passenger window was inconsistent at best and completely non-functional at worst, but the passenger-side controller handled the window normally. This bugged the crap out of me so I decided to take out the module and very stupidly fiddle with it to see if I needed to replace the switch, the whole module, or if it was burnt out/just messy.

I pieced the part back together and plugged it in and the windows worked for a moment, just enough time for me to roll the passenger-side window for me to adjust my mirror, but not back up.

So far I've entirely replaced the master switch on the driver's side and replaced my blown 30A fuse in the fusebox under the steering wheel (my manual stated this was what controlled the "power," as in powered windows and what I assume would be the mirrors, if they were powered.

I've tried resetting the battery and the windows as well (I saw that that may be necessary, but it didn't help).

The powered locks work on both doors, as does every function of the car.

I'm honestly at a loss, but I would like this fixed as soon as I can, since my window is now just stuck open with a towel covering it while I'm not driving.

I've heard that this may be an issue with the power relay, but I have no idea how to open it up/take it out for me to look at it.

Happy to answer any questions and I appreciate the help!!

    All the best

    Welcome to the forum!!

The right window is down ? Now even the right window switch no longer works .

Pop out the right window switch with a 12VDC power source jump the switch plug one direction is up the other down to get your window closed.

Time to break out the Meter!!

Did you replace the Master Switch with a Toyota Switch or After market some of those can be of lower quality.

Has the original switch been broken beyond saving?

Many times the master switch will get dirty from leaving the window down in the rain.

Many times the wire harness from the left door wires will break on vehicles this old .

Because your powering a motor if the line loss from broken wires is to much the motor will not be able to raise the window.

Using the power window schematic check things till you find the open circuit.

    Good luck.
