Had my cab mounts redone by @drtfabrication on Saturday. Then had to go out and test them on Sunday at Four Peaks, ha. Had them replaced after breaking the DIY version that had been installed for 3+ years. Truck oddly feels more stable, ha. Hammer hangers and cross bar are next on my to do list. Derik's work is just fire!

I found someone who did sort of the same thing and bought a part from ali express and a part from Amazon. I posted the links here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/moving-data-usb-to-top-of-dash.803844/#post-28863399

It was really easy. The worst part was drilling the hole to the right side. Everything else was plug and play. Unscrew the head unit, swap connection, put it all back.

Your engine sounds louder. It also depends on what you replace it with. From what I understand the resonance stuff it's suppressing keeps stress from being put on the intake parts of your engine and other bits involved with how the air moves into the cylinders. I replaced my intake with a S&B intake and my V6 woke up in a big way especially at higher RPMs. I forget its a truck sometimes.

That’s all correct— only addition is that it comes with replacement end which they call an intake flow accelerator(looks like the tip of an individual throttle body) that replaces the stock end that looks like an ice cream scooper(best description I could come up with haha).

That sounds like the best deal out there that I could find brand new— I got mine used.

yes these are the 5 degree. and install was kind of easy I guess you can say. I did it by myself. Used a bucket and a jack to help me lift it. The only hard part is reaching your arm inside the frame with the brake line(driver side) in the way to get the washer and nut on.

In my recent experience, the lead times on the site are optimistic. Yet earlier this year my sliders came early. RCI has a nice factory but only so many people; I think a total of 2 in sales/customer service. And my guess is they make things in batches. I did get my skid just in time as I'm hitting the trail on Wednesday. I'm not expecting to need it, but I have it for those things you don't expect! Beat the &(*! out of my 4Runner's OEM skid so I wanted more protection.

I installed this S&B air intake about a month ago. My V6 sounds like a totally different engine with it installed. Slightly better fuel economy as well. The filter is cleanable and just needs to be oiled lightly and put back on after a clean.

The longer and additional box intake that pulls air from the front can be taken off in hotter weather to keep the air a little cooler.

I love this thing. Yes my engine bay is dusty :notsure:

What did you use as your "plunger"? My bakflip cover has dozens of small dimples in it from various storms and I'd like to take the time one day and get them out. The heat won't be a problem for me, as I live in AL and our current weather is a few degrees shy of hell's front porch

I didn't use a plunger at all; the heat just expanded the aluminum panels and the dimples were gone....
Until I parked in the garage and they came back. Ugh.

I think we may have different definitions of "dimples" then. Your cover must have come with a smooth finish. My Bakflip G2 has a dimpled finished, but also has a lot of dents in it from falling acorns, sticks, hail, etc. from my backyard. I think that's the problem that the OP was trying to address.

The MX4 has a matte textured finish, so it will hide small things but not these hail dents.
    BTW, I'm the OP.

Ok that looks like the same finish that mine has, may be slightly different. But we're in the same boat regardless. However, I've never seen those dents disappear with only heat. Here's a pic of mine that shows a few of them

Fixed my harsh rear end bottom-out issue by replacing the Wheelers flip kit & Superbumps with the Archive Garage Stealth HD flip kit & Yellow Speed Bumps bump stops. I fkn love Archive Garage products, they're so well designed. More info on them here: Gained uptravel and I can't feel the rear bump stops at all anymore. <3
