I'm curious what the price difference between the sport and the off road will be. Right now for the 3rd gen it seems pretty negligible. But it seems the differences between the models for the 4th gen are much more noticeable.

I would like the hybrid, but don't need the MTS and shocks the off road has. So I'm hoping the sport model could save some money. Would like to go with aftermarket shocks in the future anyway.

I don’t recall the years, but our trips were in the 70s, maybe into 81/82. We had a green one and a light blue one, both with the “wood” paneling. I do recall seeing Country Squire on them, just not sure of the years.

When did the whole over stylized plastic bullshit front clips become a trend in the mid-sizes? Swear the people designing this shit, never used or owned a truck before.

At least with the HDs you can still get a “normal” bumper. Easy access tow hooks too!

The bumper on the SD has shrunk. No idea why design teams have waged war against bumpers on trucks. The new Tundra would be way better looking if it had a front bumper like the 2nd gen Tundra had. Toyota took it a step further and abolished the rear bumper on the Tundra. That was the most appealing thing about the Ranger, the truck still had a front bumper.

One of the first things to get dented or mangled too…not so easy fix anymore with all these Suburbia styled trucks.

They killed it on the Ranger too, looks like only the Raptor has a “normal” bumper.

Didn’t say it was pretty, mostly straight across bumper is practical. First thing that comes off my trucks, and bolt on a winch bumper. Previous Gen was better looking.

Most of todays trucks are hard to look at, my heart is with vintage, but to get it anywhere near today’s performance takes a pile cash, and still wouldn’t be as safe.

Ranger Raptor should be the default style of the Ranger. The othe trims don't look as good. I like the squared up edges of the front end, the truck could use a new cab design with a more up right A pillar.

22 SD might be the last good looking truck Ford ever made. 23 don't look bad, but it wasn't an improvement in looks. Maybe something like that 70's truck on the bottom would look good. SD with some Raptor style fenders and bedsides, Bronco styled front grille with round head lamps. 90's style Alcoa wheels with the black finish.

Owned two Ford pickups, for work, both were ugly and always broke down. Trans, fuel pumps, ECU's, exhaust manifolds (like on every ford pickup). Went to Toyota and won't ever buy a Ford again.

Yes, Ranger Raptor is definitely good looking, the trims under are a bit doofy.

The all black out trim, can’t remember what is is called, STX appearance package something, tones down that giant grill a bit. The c-clamp halo lights are odd though…most stuff out there today is.

Not exactly what you are talking about…but how is this? sorta maybe? sure like it. Something you can actually got beat the shit out of off-road. Unlike poser Tacoma Pros, Ranger Raptors, Chevy ZR2s…

Have a very long list of repairs for my Toyotas if you ever want to hear…

Drove my buddy’s F150 5.0 for three hours the other day coming out of the mountains and on the interstate pulling an enclosed 6X12 trailer, sure did like that V8. Had 250K on it, said he had very little issues with it. Funny thing is, he wants a Tundra next since Toyota has more made in the USA parts on it.

Odder thing was, like the V8 in his F150 over the EcoBoost…but wants a new Tundra, unless he doesn’t know they are turbo now too.

Same here. I plan to order a Sport, and it would be a nice bonus if it cost a couple grand less than an Off Road. I don't really need all the stuff the Off Road adds, considering the worst my truck is likely to see are Forest Service roads.

I think I tried to buy a Toyota truck from about 5 different dealers over the past 3 year. They either wouldn't sell me a truck, had mark ups. I gave up trying. I'd buy a GW pick up built 100% in China makes no difference to me. If those were sold here, American money would be invested in the production process. I read that Chinese built Teslas had a higher quality rating over the same models built and sold in the US.

The tires on the old Ford Crew are the ones I want for my Tacoma. Thin, tall, military muscle grip. Have not been able to find them anywhere.
