    Check out Cold Steel. They make pretty good stuff that won't, usually, break the bank.

    Check out the pro-tech godfather. Definitely not a cheap toy but depends on your definition of crazy expensive.

    I have a Godson, and the build quality per dollar spent is outstanding! The smoothest and cleanest detents ever, and spring tension that will jump out of your hand if youre not careful. Godfather is just way bigger, hahaha.
    On the Stilletto question, the Cold Steel Ti-Lite is a quality piece of a similar construction, but is not an auto open. There are some higher end stiletto's out there but they will likely come at a heavier price. Int'l shipping will be a factor. I might recommend looking at the Mikov autos. PVK keeps them on hand in many configurations. Great reputation, and a quality level that is gaining more fans all the time. very affordable! Made in the Czech Republic. I think of them as a more modern version of the Old style Ital Stilletto's.

    So this is what I have been carrying for at least 15 years if not longer. It happened again, this time at a port, security took it, at a port getting on a boat. Boats and knives basically go hand in hand for gods sake.
    Apparently Benchmade has discontinued it with a black blade. If anyone knows of a place that might still have them I am all ears. I'll buy their surplus, I just like the black blade, can still get it in satin.

    What kinda boat are we talking? A cruse ship a ferry? Fishing trip? I’m just curious because depending on what it was I probably wouldn’t have left my pocket knife behind either.

    For that Benchmade you could swap handle, I did this for spyderco Para 3, when st. Nick version was sold out and wanted that color combo.

    New black micarta scales with burlap weave on the Esee 4. Happy with the palm swell feel and look.

    Leather sheath for the ESEE 4 arrived. They achieve such a snug fit that the retention strap couldn’t close with the new grips, so I had to revert to the originals.

    What am I going to do with those grips…? Naturally, since they also fit an ESEE 3, I had to order another knife for “kitchen use”.

    Send help :spending::D

    Those look sweet. Bummer about the grips being to big though.

    I keep breaking the rules and posting changes rather than actual new purchases. Forgiveness over permission I guess :D

    I used a file to add some texture to both sides of the scales on my Izula 2, and painted the screws a flat green to “match” the blade and sheath stitching.

    BRB, going to CQC what’s left of ISIS now.

    Esee 3 arrived. Swapped some grips around and the 4 looks much better with black screws and the original grips from the 3. The 3 has a very nice weight and thickness for kitchen use. Wins all around :yes:

    intake mods, firestone airbags, campershell, backup lights,
    an old bayonet from about 1910. The front of the blade was bent so wacked it off put on some scrap walnut
    for scales. Still need to fill the hole at the back of the grip.
