Looks like a Westinghouse Whirlaire 1952-58. Quite a desirable item for fan fans.

Could you remove the degraded cloth covering and replace it with heat shrink, perhaps a few layers? Plasti-dip might work too.

 

Short savage storm rolled through here, bits - o - tree were flying horizontally by the house. I can see some branches down in the yard but I didn't hear anything hit the house so good.

 

I will look closer. It seemed kind of sketchy where the 3 wires contacted the stator windings.

 

I just looked on that popular auction site - vintage fans sell for good coin...

 

The storm has returned, pouring, thunder & lightning. The wind seems less however.

 

Looks like that's the same system that blew through here Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Look to me like all you gotta do is plant the cup & stab the flag. That’s after you get the greens just right.

 

There are 2 giant Maple trees that tower over the house.
Over the years I have had lots of tree parts down in the yard and on the roof but they still stand. Miraculous as there are sheets of shale here, very little actual dirt.

To plant anything requires an excavator or dynamite...

 

We had one go through earlier on around 6:30pm. Wind started picking up something fierce and then I could see the lightning show. Scanner started doing a long steady beep and I knew it was a severe thunderstorm warning. Sure enough Franklin County dispatch read out the storm warning.

@Gen1TacoLady thought my scanner was odd/creepy, but I think it's handy

 

It was a labour of love. Plenty of cussin’ but works like new.

 

I swear the neighbors have some green caliber grass. They keep it incredibly short.

And if we get a bunch of rain, we have the water hazard covered, too!

 

I think maple trees could grow out of a raging fire.

 

I have two giant ones in my yard as well. Probably planted in 1965 when the house was built. They're gonna have to come down here in the next 5 years unfortunately. 1 is really starting to interfere with the driveway.

I died a little when I saw it was gone.

I'm kind of a dumbass, why would grass around the trunk kill it?
