That was our exact thoughts about Lockhart Basin...funny how the experiences were reversed.

I live in Cottonwood (Sedona area) and get out locally every week. Always open to hit the dusty trail.

For sure I'm interested. I'm just getting to explore the trails around here. I know the popular ones in Sedona pretty well. Those are fun but can be crowded. I was recently on Powerline trail off to the West and that was pretty fun. And just yesterday I went out wandering through Jerome and past Perkinsville and found some 4wd forest roads. One of them was incredible. I don't think anyone had driven it in a year or more. I did it no problem in a stock OR. At places I had to get out and walk around to find the road, at other places I had to drive up a dry creek / river bed, and there were countless dry river and creek crossings with rocks and sand and stuff. It was beautiful and fun. That place would be a hard no once the rains start, but I would love to hit that again.

I’ve done most of the Sedona trails; not power line yet though.

was thinking this trail at some point. I also stayed at Mingus Mountain campground for $10 recently and it was pretty great.

I want to share a trail with you. View it in the onX Offroad app here:

I'm game to do that. There are a ton of great roads on the Mingus mtns - none of which I've explored. I'm generally around but might be away for a few days over the 4th - haven't put that totally together yet.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Mingus is great. Didn't find the best camping spot out there as I got a late leave on a 3-day weekend, but it was a fun drive.

Took the wife through right as the leaves were turning, and it was quite the scenery.
