Just don't toss 4wd completely. I know a guy local to me who dumped his 4WD on his LT'd regular cab and then regretted it.

Well if this spindle/arm upgrade doesn’t go through. Strong simple 4WD with much more travel does interest me, to pair with the links.

@81Trekker do you normally allow the shackles to go past 90° and swing forward some at full droop? I’ve been told by a few leaf spring racers it’s a bad thing and thus strapped my truck before they go 90. Curious on your opinion on it.

 

In my experience, as long as the shackle doesn't go past being straight with the leaf spring, it's fine, because the shackle can't invert. It's more about the shackle to leaf spring angle, than the shackle to frame angle.

 

It’s totally fine for them to swing past 90, when the spring compresses it wants to flatten out and will push the shackle rearward. If the shackle we to swing 75 degrees forward past 90 you could potentially get the springs to flop but this will never get anywhere near that

We over estimated the weight too. However even bare ass back there still 1900 without bed or anything.

That's way out of my pay scale. Maybe if my next union contract sees me in the 6 figures, but even then its a bit pricey, especially if they are only a 2 year, 30000 mile warranty.
