    Quick question..

I just install my intake (discontinued version) and i love it.. But the seller did not include a MAF gasket (seal ring). I asked Toyota parts at my nearby dealer if they sell it separately, but they said no. He also mentioned that he see's the part, but doesn't see it being used in the installation pictures. He said I should be fine without it. My package didn't come with a manual so I don't know if what he said was accurate.

I went ahead and installed it without the gasket and everything seems to be running great, no idle fluctuations..

Do you guys that have this intake have the gasket on yours? Should i be ok without it? Thanks in advance for your input.

I have the gasket for mine I'm pretty sure but I'm not sure if its really needed or not. I think you might be just fine. I'm sure someone will chime in.;)

Hey not trying to thread jack but what's the best filter for our old version TRD/AFe cold air intake. I know AFe have tons of filter but which is the better one.

Do a search. I know some guys on here switched over to an AFE dry filter so you wouldnt have to oil it. I just ordered another TRD filter shortly after I got the intake system so I would have a spare filter ready to go when it was time to swap out the other filter out.

Just got my MAF seal and piece of mind!!

One other question for all you guys. I noticed that both times I worked on the intake (when i initially installed it and the second time when i added the maf gasket)... I noticed on the first initial startup that the car choked for a half a second..

Is this normal? Both times i removed MAF, the battery was disconnected. The choke during startup only happened during the initial startup right after connecting that battery back in. Every startup after the first one has been normal and everything runs great while in idle and with throttle.

I'm thinking that because the MAF was removed the ecu had to adjust?
