There are signs. For instance. I just found out that my colleagues know I have always had a gun in my office. apparently they noticed that I walk with a back pack from my car and set it down in my office, yet I never touch it.

I had my pack next to me, they bet me to open it.
Told them I didn’t want to show them my wife’s dildos. best I could come up with in the snap moment.

When were you at Irwin? I was part of fox troop in 2/11. Last of the real opfor.

 

I arrived in March 1986, was there through February 1988. I was in the Maintenance Company (they changed our name mid-way through my duty, I forget the newer name) in the 177th Support BN.

This was our motor pool / shop area where we worked while I was there.

 

Oh I was there many years later. But I’ll have to find some old pictures I have. We were still using the old BMP’s made from 113’s

 

My MOS was 27E - TOW/Dragon missile systems repair. As Irwin/NTC didn't have many TOW systems of our own, basically what we did was help with PMCS/checkout/checkin of any systems the visiting rotational units had or "borrowed". We had 12 people in my TOW squad, with enough work for maybe 2. So the NCOICs had an agreement that if any of wanted to do some OJT (On the Job Training), we could so 6 month "rotations" in other shops within our maintenance company. I did a couple 6 month stints in our tank turret repair shop, and I worked on a lot of gear boxes for 113's while I was there. I also did a "tour" in the Small Arms repair shop

I remember as a kid in the 70’s driving over the bay bridge in SF on the way to Tahoe and always looking at them. It always grew smaller. Every time I drove over it after the NAVY I looked at what was left and thought about that spot every time I buy razor blades now.
