I’ve only ever fit my Sunday Motors flat tracker in my shortbed and gotten the tailgate closed. Hell, I don’t even think my mtn bike will fit in with the tailgate closed. Modern mtb bikes w/ 29” wheels are big bastards.

To pull the tailgate, what do you do with the backup camera and tailgate lock wiring? I didnt see a quick disconnect or anything.

Leitner Designs built their racks for this specific use case. The rear cross member can move which allows your bike to fit with the tail gate down while providing tie down points. Check them out. I have had my Leitner rack for 2 years and although I do not have dirt toys (other than my mountain bike) and cannot speak to securing a KTM to the rack, the fit and finish of the ACS forged rack for the Tacoma along with the bed stiffeners is exceptional.

Even with the six foot bed you have to angle the bike to get the tailgate closed. See profile pic.

wouldn't repair stand under the engine case take the weight completely off the rear tire? Also, probably a nice thing to have if you need to make a repair at the track

Two is tight but can be done. Both 250s. One by it self or my CBR no issues at all. 17388957_10155107886918610_1293159787085652338_o.jpg 16196030_10154948518938610_167964612491509102_n.jpg

I apologize, I don't have pictures of these on my personal Tacoma yet, just my work truck. Lowers flat to load, strap 1 or 2 bikes in, cordless drill(or hand crank) to lift, close the tailgate. The platform for the rear tire is wide enough to move the tire back enough to fit in the bed.
We also make pedal bike racks, I have attached a photo of those in my truck in case anyone is interested.

    Buy a trailer….

5X8, fits 3 bikes no problem, it is like having a full-size truck bed without having to own a full-size truck.

So much easier to load than an into a truck bed. Especially after a long day beating the shit out of oneself. ;)

There was a prototype Silverado made by someone in the early 2000's (maybe Ogio) that had the tailgate cut for a dirt bike tire. It was similar to this...

I like this a lot. May have to look into attaching something like this to my Prinsu. I was carrying similarly but w/ my front wheel removed. Worked great, but very inconvenient & cumbersome to mount/dismount.

    agree

Run straps around the lower triple clamps to the corners of the bed and two more over the top of the tire to the rear corners of the bed. Held my FE501 many times secure with zip issues.

As mentioned above, a 6' bed still requires the tail gate to be down.
