    Good Morning Porch Folks :D.

I think maybe building a boat might be in order with all the rain .
Looking forward to trying to head upstate this weekend :fingerscrossed: if we have at least a couple of rain free days .
    Have a good day folls.

    Evening all:

We had a lot of heavy rain in the last couple of days and a flood watch was in effect, I thought the river would be way high, it's up, but nowhere near where I thought it would be. I had mowed my dormant lawn just before these storms started moving in, now it's back to growing and needs mowing again, i was starting to like the dry spell and not having to mow as much!

I think FB as well as a lot of other "social media" is a problem with a lot of the young folks and their initiative to go out and enjoy life away from the keyboard :annoyed:. JMO.
Some days I try to take a break from TW as well and have limited my number of threads I post in or I could spend all,day on here .
All good folks on this thread .

    Have a good one all.

No face book for me or Twitter or any of that crap. Just a few forums that are of things that interest me. That's the extent of my social media. I do some YouTube videos and I watch videos there too, you can learn things from it. But I try and stay out of any political bs.

Well, me and my big mouth. I saw on a FB B-17 page, some guys power washing a big radial, and suggested that my R-2800 project certainly could use that, and our mechanic agreed that it could! So this morning, he tells me to put all those valve covers back on! DuhOh! Not one bolt into it, I turned into a Docent again, and was on tours through lunch. So, not much progress, and not many pictures. But I did get it back together, and got you a couple few views.

Ever seen a C-47 up on jacks? With the wheels off? You have now. Will be back together tomorrow, and get prepped for holiday Fly-Overs. Most of the morning, we had to keep folks at a distance, but later, we let some get an interior view.

    20230628_132030.jpg

And the B-25 got out for some engine run up tests again - hasn't been out since I posted that video. Got to make sure it's running perfect for the weekend. I took some video from a distance, but it's not as cool as what I posted, so here is Yellow Rose getting pushed back into the hangar.

    20230628_132627.jpg
    20230628_132710.jpg

And I did get excited briefly - I thought I found the serial number for the B-2800 - the plate on the nose is too worn to make out - but it was just for the Magneto assembly! :(

    20230628_133415.jpg

And I thank you all for the positive feedback! (Especially from PA!) So, I thought I'd see if there is a wing in PA. No, but a couple you could maybe make a day trip! commemorativeairforce.org/units

    Morning.
    Elva broken hinge rewelded.
Engine bay pressure washed and new diapers installed.
Going to make a rear spacer block for supporting the rear body while removing so
It won’t lay on the dist cap. Found the cap cocked slightly however it was because of the mount breaking and the body laying on it. But why take a chance…

    IMG_6867.jpg

The block is there to balance the car in the air.
Since the spot to lift it is right on the CG, a little extra precautions are necessary..
The motor is two inches forward from our blue one we had so only one block is necessary..
A wheelie is not a preferred action on a lift..

    Awesome pics Kurt. TY

Good morning. Today I have a technician coming out to replace a motor in a piece of furniture. I had the day all planned since the tech was supposed to come out between 1 and 5. The company changed the visit hours to 11:30 to 1pm. Right in the middle of the day, oh joy.

Sun is shining for a change. Hope the tech shows up,in the appointed time frame Tom. In case they say 9 to 12 and an emergency arose and they won't be there till 2 . Can't cancel because it will take another week pr two to reschedule . Hate when that happens.

    Have a good day all.

As always Kurt Thanks for the Pictures. There is an air museum located at the old Willow Grove Naval Air Station (closed down in 2011). I have been to the museum with my Grandson and I think I enjoyed it more than he did. https://wingsoffreedommuseum.org/wp/

It's nice to see a true tradesman keeping his hands and mind in the game. Enjoy. Thanks for the picture Mike.

Crunch those numbers Rob :D. Retirement is great, but you have to be able to afford it. Good luck at the seminar and ask questions :D.
