Swapped to an AGM battery over the weekend. For some strange reason, the DTE is now reading 3,728 miles till empty and hasn't moved. While I wish that was a true number, how can I correct it? TIA

Drive it. Let the computer calculate an average MPG. Fill the tank and it should do the math to determine a very poorly determined DTE.

Thanks. I've driven a fair amount this week and gotten gas as well. Maybe it just needs more time.

Wow, those extra 2 volts really makes a difference! :)

Just drive it. It should settle back down to your sucky gas mileage soon enough.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Disconnecting the battery probably messed it up.
I rely on the other gauge at the lower right, so IMHO DTE is a useless feature.
I also track miles per fill-up based on one of the extra odometers.

Oh I agree, but it's bothering the hell out of me that it's reading such a high number. I do not rely on it whatsoever, however there are times when I ride the lightening a little too close and will use it as a last resort.

I've had a few "I know my truck" moments but I have also gone over 50 miles after it said 0.

My gas light comes on after burning 17 gallons and DTE=0 at almost exactly 18 gallons. So I know I have just about 3 gallons left when it says 0. And at 12 MPG on average...that isn't far!

Maybe try disconnecting the battery ground for a couple of minutes the re-connect.

My sister's first Ford Raptor got down to 6 miles to empty. 26 gallon tank. put in just over 25 gallons. Was a long road trip towing a trailer and barely made it to a gas station in Montana. We felt very lucky. And that seemed pretty darn accurate, so we usually trusted it after that. Our chevy cruze just says "LOW" once you get under 50 miles to empty, which i hate, lol.

Appreciate the reply, especially from someone who puts "pro rubber mats" in their mod list. :jpow:

It's possible that when you connected the new battery there might have been an intermittent connection before the terminal was seated firmly. If the problem continues try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect quickly and hopefully everything will boot up properly.
