Inexpensive alternative for tie down bolts?

    Has anyone used a name-brand alternative for roof rack tie down bolts (eyebolts, eyelet bolts, lifting shoulder eye bolt, etc...) such as the below? ~$2/bolt seems way more reasonable for securing a few items (bins, chairs, etc) for a camping trip (no intense offroading) vs. shelling out $7-$15/bolt from Rhino Rack, Frontrunner, Yakima, etc...reviews seem decent, but I don't generally trust those from Amazon.

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    I have 6 D rings Mounted to the bed I used to secure cargo .

    Using 2" and 1" ratchet straps.

    The trick was with the all metal bed using a large bearing surface on the underside .

    Never had any problems Hauling any cargo.

    What are you tying down on the roof rack? Generally even cheap pot steel can withstand a couple hundred pounds of tensile strength. It's not like you are strapping down the Harley Street Glide up there, or at least I hope to hell you're not. :cookiemonster:

    Ha, correct, no motorized vehicles :). Literally car camping gear + kid stuff. Canopy, bike trailer, camping bins, MAYBE a yeti cooler would be the heaviest thing but prob would just keep that in the bed...I just don't understand why the roof rack brands charge so much for something seemingly so simple?

    Yea i've thought about D-Rings as well, but this is for a roof rack/platform application, I wanted something a bit simpler, but honestly those might work as well. It's a K9 eezi-awn platform so it just takes regular M6 or M8 nuts in the slots.

    Here is what I did on my bed.
    Simple eye bolts and spring nuts.
    With some airline track pucks.

    Those should be fine for typical roof rack loads.

    The markups are brutal on these bits..
