Keystone State Thread

I thought it looked a bit hazy this morning when I took my dog out, but thought nothing of it. But just went out to get the mail and it actually smells like fire now too. Pretty bad. Wasn't expecting that. Anyone else experiencing that? I know I just talked to my buddy who is also in the South Hills (about 10mins from me) and he said the same thing.

 

It's pretty hazy here down in Franklin County, but no smoke smell. Although I'm not a good judge of that, after getting sick my nose is way off anymore.

 

Doesnt smell down this way, just hazy. Theres an air quality alert on my weather app in effect until tomorrow.

 

Slightly smokey here in Pittsburgh. Can definitely smell the smoke and feel it scratching your throat today. I see why they said it's a Red action day. This was just taken.

 

Reminds me of the old days. In the 1960s and 1970s I remember coming in the Parkway East, to exit onto Bates Street, and seeing J&L bellowing. Two great uncles worked there back in the day.

we had a lot of smoke today in state college this morning it had a chem smell to it but now it smells like camp fire smoke

 

I got home from work and was told one of the roofers fell off the back roof onto our deck…You can see the distance he fell in the photo, about 20’

 

how bad did he get hurt?

 

He was walking afterwards, had a nice cut in his head but we’ve heard nothing since. My wife watched it happen. They took him ‘somewhere’. That’s all we know

That's a gnarly distance to fall! Sure hope he is being monitored and okay.

A couple years ago a former colleague of mine fell from scaffolding while doing some home deck work, from a distance of about 10'. He fractured his pelvis and is still recuperating to walk normally.

 

The guy who took him to treatment returned about 30 minutes back. He said that the injured guy is fine, slight concussion, no broken bones. He’ll miss a couple weeks of work.

 

A little lol. They have been showing Chicago on the news all day. Terrible. Hopefully ur inside. All though I did drive home with windows down and cut my grass.

 

Oh snap. Hope he's OK.

 

Last year I watched the gutter guys blowing them out w/ leafblowers on steep roofs w/ no safety equipment at all. I just watched and shook my head. Foreman(?) asked if everything was ok. My response was, For now. lol

 

Btw, Gonna just throw this in here since it's short term and limited time. Have 2 ZBB tickets for Hershey this weekend I dont think I'm gonna be able to use. If anyone is interested I can let them go for less than face value, obviously.

 

grr...I don't know why I continue to give caliraised my business. I went to shop tonight and redeem 2,000 points I accumulated with them ($100 off!) since I need a rack to mount my tent on. Well, apparently since they have a site wide 10% sale going on, you can't use any discount codes. but there is no way to pick or choose which discount to take. And my $100 off is a bigger discount than the 10% on this item.

Smokey Pirates game. Picture doesn't show how bad it is. They almost canceled the game but the Pirates were waiting for the MLB uppities to cancel it so they don't forfeit the game.
