Finally got around to mounting the winch bumper I bought back in January. Now I need to re-tap a couple of holes where the sway bar bolts to the frame.

 

Sprayed my knock off skid plate from Lostar with Raptor bedliner. I couldn't stop thinking that it looked like my taco was wearing a diaper with the stock gray paint.

 

Glad to see I am not alone. People have asked me over the years why I keep several large pieces of cardboard stashed in the garage. It's because my old knees cannot handle the concrete. Oil changes, brakes, suspension, tire rotations, etc are so much easier with that concrete cushion. I always have 7 or 8 large sheets tucked away (especially flat screen tv boxes).

I bought one of these last year and it's been a gamechanger:

 

have a "garden" pad for my knees also a game changer.

 

I like the cardboard because it is also a catch-all for oil, brake dust, axle grease, etc and once it does its job I can flip it over or trash it. If I will be under the truck for extended work I pull it in the garage and lay on a clean old section of 10 x 12 carpet. That pad does look like a winner though. I had a couple of creepers over the last 40 years but barely used them. More trouble than they were worth. If I had better foresight I would have only closed in half of the upstairs in my garage and installed a lift. I thought, at the time, that I would get more use installing an overhead 12" i-beam. Seems like every time I need to do a hoist lift it is never close to the stupid i-beam so I end up making a trap door in the ceiling to hang the chainfall hoist on a 6 x 6 upstairs. That is one of my biggest regrets in life. If I decide to sell and build, in the next 3-5 years, my next garage will absolutely have a lift. Nothing worse than doing brakes or struts working on jack stands.

 

With a spring under base 5-lug I use a pair of ramps to get room for oil changes which also helps drain the pan but the cardboard would make a nice addition.

 

Oh, I just pull the bedrug folding mat I use in the back of the truck out and use it.

Yea, I use mine as a false floor until I build one, for the dog mostly, but also to keep prying eyes from peering down into the seatless chasm in back.

Oh, and also swapped the engine air filter for a washable AFEpower one...


And the cabin air filter was due for a change as well LOL

 

i have 2 AFE filters for my truck. wash one up let it dry for a while. while the other ones being used.

 

Just picked up from getting Katzkin's installed.

Heated seats too.
