I need someone to explain the tireless spare on the back of a jeep to me. I need to know. Please. Is it a mental disorder? I know it's a jeep thing and I wouldn't understand, but I need to understand. I can't bring myself to ask a jeeper because I can't lower my mental acuity far enough to converse with them.

 

its to they can still do 1000's of dollars of damage to the rear doors when they back into the shopping cart corral.

 

It’s when you have just enough credit cards to afford 4 wheels and tires, but not enough for the spare one. It’s a Jeep thing, we wouldn’t understand.

 

How large are the four tires on the ground? Are they 37+? Might be too cheap to buy a reinforced tailgate hinge or spare delete/camera relocation cover plate.

 

Whatever size tire goes on 22-24" deep dish mall crawler wheels.

 

Well as a former "jeep guy" actually I still love them, Let me clarify this phenomenon
While money, tail gate hindges and mental disorder are all true, the real reason is visibality. Some can't see to reverse the big rig, lol, another reason is some are trying to minimize the vibration while on the highway so 1 less tire to vibrate and lastly some have a 4 tire deflator/inflator system so to use it you have to eliminate one tire...

Its all in good fun jeep guys, all in good fun...

 

^Those reasons are addressed by leaving the spare at home, not by leaving a bare wheel on the tailgate with no tire

 

Hahaha. I really am a Jeep guy lol.
