Ya that was still the initial generation of the KX250F. I don't count the KXF/RMZ collab, as that bike was somewhat of a basketcase. The 08 KXF was a good bike but they've come a long way since, in my opinion. 250Fs have gotten faster and more reliable, in most cases. The initial YZ250F engine (5-valve) is the exception, as that thing was still probably the most reliable of the bunch. And obviously the chassis feel more like race bikes now and less like trail bikes, like the older ones sort of did.

The steel frame yz250f's were absolute tanks. My dad and I had an '03 we rode interchangeably for moto and RMEC - 125lb kid and a 180lb grown man on the same settings lol. Like the KX, '08 was a good year for the yz250f as well

Ya I hated the chassis feel of those older YZFs. I didn't like the feel of Yamaha 4strokes until the 2010 250F came out. And then the motor got fast, stock in '14. My '10 was built though and was fast and reliable. But anything '14+ for the YZ250F is awesome, stock.

I don't know if it's official but I said that a while ago that we were told that was happening.

Regardless, I think it'll be good. The relationship at KTM has run it's course, for him.

The part about Cooksey announcing it in a YouTube video as if he discovered something unknown is what I found a little comical though

Ya lol. I actually don't mind Cooksey that much. I certainly don't always agree with him, but that's ok. But a lot of him dropping stuff like this is stuff that a lot of people pretty much know to be true but can't say anything for reasons. But he has no one to answer to so he can do what he wants. I'm not saying I'm an "insider" but I hear a lot of stuff with my job and I am not allowed to say anything. And it's not worth getting into trouble for internet clout. But Cooksey is in a unique position that he has a lot of sources and doesn't have to worry about making people mad or getting into trouble. Even Matthes has contacts that he has to keep happy or he would lose the ability to get the scoop etc.

I personally think the guy does more harm than good, but I hear what you are saying.

Sometimes you need guys like that though. Because in this sport everyone is so connected and eventually you get things like the bike claim at LL. Matthes could've blown that open but instead went silent on it and danced around the subject, while Cooksey got to the real story. The only reason that happened was because everyone that was connected wanted it to go away but Cooksey doesn't care and came out with it, along with Hopper and those other guys who don't have the mainstream connections. So that's why I think it's sometimes good to have dudes like that because it keeps the mainstream from putting their own spin on the story.

I'm excited that Dax is racing Redbud. I think once he is full-time pro, he's going to be right up there with Deegan and Hymas. Hopefully he has a good race, this weekend.

Sounds like Chase is in for this weekend. Might have some 450 excitement finally. But doubt it.

Anything official yet? Everyone is saying he is supposed to be in and I've seen nothing from him or Honda yet.

Edit: I saw it is official. Very cool

Was away on a long weekend, so I just last night started to watch Redbud (haven't finished it yet.) Excited that Deegan got his first win. Star Yam guys had a good weekend. It's still awesome to see how it seems like the Star 250s all do The Leap with ease, like every lap lol. Still waiting for someone to try and get Jett. Chase didn't seem himself just yet.

Also, this rumor about Eli coming back is interesting. Supposedly this coming SX-only is the word, with an option for the following year. So that should mean him and Webb on the same team. And Justin Cooper might have to do another deal where he doesn't do full-time SX and will race the 250 Outdoors. Very weird.

I'm very curious to see how the 2 brothers do when both on 450s at Honda....seems like a bad place to be from the past with JMB and Stanton, or the MotoGP side with Hayden and Pedrosa. The dynamic, especially being brothers seems like it may become problematic and I think (not often correctly) that Jett is the faster kid in the family. Either way, it's hard to have 2 #1 riders sharing the same awning I would think

Webb out at KTM and like I said a while ago, he will be on Star. Def not a good vibe within that KTM team with him. This has been brewing for a while. Still weird to part ways mid-season.

I feel for J Coop, man. He needs to move elsewhere. Husky and Kawi are hurting units right now that don't have much junior talent to bump up imo.

That's only if Eli comes back. if he doesn't then he has the other 450 spot for Star. Essentially they want to keep him but since Eli has sort of hung around probably longer than they thought he would (not that it is a bad thing) it sort of messed up their timeline. But at the end of the day, he is a Yamaha guy and I think he would prefer to stick on that bike/team unless he had to go elsewhere. But I agree, it does suck still, in a way.

If the Eli contract ink is already dry, as they're saying, then JCoop is absolutely getting screwed over again and needs to move on. No reason he shouldn't have been on a 450 for outdoors.
