Bought my 2023 TRD OR DCSB 2 days ago. Taking it in tomorrow to have BakFlip MX4 installed. Need a retractable step for bed access too (I'm disabled), any leads?

I can start by saying I was getting about 16-17mpg stock.
Put in new air filter, plugs, pedal commander and cut off the stock "scoop" intake accelerator. reset ecu. After 1 tank (I always run premium. 91?)
Throttle response improved, lag still exists, mpg increases towards 19.
Installed aFe TB spacer. Reset ECU. Filled up the tank and went for a spin around town. MPG increased above 20. Shifting feels smoother with the automatic. Lag still present. maybe not as profound but it's there. The "whistle" is there when ya get on it. The truck feels like it's breathing better. Potential placebo effect.? Maybe.
Still early. ECU needs to relearn.
I'm not expecting huge results but if my combination platter helps smooth it out some.
    Cool.
resetting ecu and mpg's after 1st cruise.

Took a nice long road trip to Mount Rushmore with the family and some friends. Towed a small camper trailer that we rented, got about 8 mpg for most of the trip, once I dropped off the trailer I was getting 23 mpg at 70 mph for the rest of the way home.

Drove through a bunch of bison, one of them rammed my bumper and pushed it up into the tail light

@5nahalf thank you for the pics, It's amazing how poor your gas mileage is when your towing a barn behind it. Mount Rushmore looks amazing, I will be visiting there in 3 weeks. Great looking truck even with the buffalo stamp on it.

Looks like it's time for an after market bumper.

the 2.5 inch lift and 265/75/r16 tires really didnt help me when towing..... But without the trailer the sport front valance gave me all those miles back by diverting the airflow around the huge chunk of extra tire that was exposed to the air stream.

Your going to love it there, if you fish, just bring inline spinners and catch trout all day.

It is a aftermarket one, its a aluminum one made by Dissent. The bumper itself is solid, the bison just pushed it up on the mounts. Just need to loosen the bolts and push it back into place.

@5nahalf sounds like an easy fix that comes with a fantastic story behind it. Thank you for the fishing tip.

Beautiful country. I remember towing in that area and parts of Nebraska, everything felt uphill, even the downhills and headwinds everywhere no matter which way I was going.

Looks like it's an 18 or 20ft trailer? How did it tow. Picking up 24ft enclosed car hauler on Saturday to bring my car in storage home.

This is a half truth, I run spots to widen my high beam spread at distance on deer infested back roads. Pointing these at the ditch in my situation would be useless. Aim where your light pattern makes sense.

Have you considered installing the HPS silicone tube? I found after I installed mine acceleration improved considerably.
