California plates and drove like a real asshole through Nisqually I5 southbound, eventually taking exit 107. Weaving in and out of traffic with no blinker smh.

First time seeing a smart cap

 

They are pretty slick. Kinda wish they were around or I knew about them before I bought my Snugcap. I’m pretty committed to my Snugcap after paying full nut for it. I like all the nut inserts so it’s super easy to mod them with bins and tables. We helped @Tacodog install his table mount a couple weekends ago and it was a breeze. @Mike’s Custom Toys sells some really nice gear.

 

They are the bees knees. Love mine.

 

You seen these? FLATED - inflatable topper. Someone mentioned one a couple weeks ago on TW, and boom, i saw 3 or 4 on my weeklong trip to Cali and back last week. 2 here in WA.

Another thing I found during my trip... a roundabout connected directly to another round about. Told my wife they should put them closer together so you could do a figure eight. Sunriver, OR.

Is license plate cloning a thing? I just got a red light camera ticket in the mail from Puyallup. The Tacoma in the photos and video is a 2nd gen silver Tacoma, but appears to have my license plate number in the photo. My plate number and correct vehicle identification (2019 silver Tacoma) are listed in the citation. Both of my license plates are still on my truck.

 

Here's the offending Tacoma (on the right)... rolled through a right turn on red. Also has an out tail light.

I'm most worried that someone out there in a similar truck has a copy of my license plate. I'm tempted to just pay the fine since it's cheaper than missing work and driving to Puyallup to contest it in person.

 

I do t see a plate number… Maybe it’s close to yours but some algorithm told it was yours and you pay. Welcome to the new America. You pay for someone else’s screwups

 

New to tacomas, Tacoma world, and fairly new to the PNW. I’m hoping to join some folks when they go offroading this summer. I’m assuming this is the best thread to my eye open for events or invites.

I’ve joined a couple facebooks groups and have been keeping an eye for a group event or open invite. I’ve only ever done trails during a day trip (in a Wrangler at Big Bear, CA) but am curious to try a weekend or multi day type camping/“overlanding” trip in my 1st Gen.

 

I fought one in puyallup. They said I didn’t come to a complete stop and after watching the video I felt I did. My truck stopped forward momentum and rocked back and settled, then I made my free right on red. The judge said in her opinion it wasn’t a complete stop and wouldn’t define what a compete stop was. She lowered the fine $30 and said have a nice day. Every person in front of me was treated the same and got a $30 break. For sure isn’t worth your time in Puyallup, the judge is a real peach.

Welcome to the PNW. What part did you move to? Gaia GPS is a great resource and there’s so many fire roads that offer great weekend trips out and about. Start small and do some day trips, you’ll find plenty of places to camp! I’m sure there will be some semi-organized trips this summer on here
